Giuliana talks about her dreams, including finishing their home, treating her daughters, and giving some away. The others advise her that she still has the top 2 left on the board.

Giuliana says

NO DEAL

Doing a quick search in the commentaries, I'm just basing my assertion on Gaz (the only other player involved in the ice-cream business dealt at the 3rd offer for £7,500 and also had the £100k in her box)

Who was that?

A lady called Sarah who played way back in May 2007.

That must have been set up beforehand - why else would they have a miniature coffin handy just like that?

Isn't it a prop from one of the Halloween weeks?

That makes sense and gives me relief that the production crew are quick to improvise rather than come up with pre-planned bits of "comedy"

I must admit I don't remember any miniature coffins being used before, but there are all sorts of little props and things scattered around the studio during the special weeks, so they were probably used somewhere (maybe they were stuck to the wings or something).

Might be a stick here. QM backed up with a nice block of reds shouldn't make the offer go down.

The banker says he's not happy with Alex, and he's hoping for the second death this show!

Banker's offer:

£20,000

No shame in dealing that.

Wow - it goes up. This is a marginal decision now - wouldn't blame her for going either way here.

If the QM stays - she'll need to only take out 1 red or 2 low reds to get a much bigger offer, if it goes - we're down to mid to high thousands at best.

I'm probably siding on the side of caution here and dealing.

Giuliana says it's such a lot to take in, and sometimes you don't really think, and Noel says the money now is real. Rich says it's a 37% chance of hitting the £250k if she goes on, and he says Giuliana should deal if that amount is her dream. Helen says it's not a one-box game, and there are amounts she'd be happy with if she took out the £250k. Irene asks Giuliana what she'd be telling someone else if she were on the wings.

Giuliana says

DEAL

An absent FM would probably point out here she has 5 reds and 3 blues and had the QM on Friday.

We're back

Round 5 - proveout

Noel reveals that Giuliana said during the break that she felt she had to deal, because of the responsibilities she has.

Giuliana says she knows exactly which numbers she'd have picked now.

2 - Stephen - £250,000

3 - Wendy - £10,000

1 - Lily - £100

Banker time

The sort of configuration I call "Schroedinger's one-box game". It is a one-box game, and isn't. :)

Probably is a £20k board, she gets offered £20k, she takes it. No complaints from here, and look! The jackpot goes first box!

Well played game there. A statistically sound deal that leads to an OPW.

Marginal call at 8-box. Could have been easy to get sucked into thinking the board was stronger than it was but didn't and we get a well-needed OPW.
