Nice response at the end from David pointing out he'd have gone at 2-box. :)

£250k has been on the table twice in a row, I'm pretty sure (and it'd be far more astonishing if it hadn't), but is that the first time three six-figure sums have been on the table in succession? I seem to recall there might have been one such run in about 2009, punctuated by three really poor Deals (Lance 2 being one of them IIRC).

The producers need to find players who have got the bottle to go for it...

that is wow. So much for just a TBW. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, again, was the hyposwap offered or even mentioned? Again it could have changed the outcome dramatically.

This is shaping up to be the WORST week ever for the show. Hopefully tomorrows player will have more courage and keep going and get a Banker Spanking.

And if tomorrow's player wins a blue from their own box, that would be irony...

Really? I wouldn't call a week with two 70k+ wins bad, regardless of whether the player could've had more or not.

And Paul and Belinda were both brave in just getting to five-box IMO; they had some very good offers throughout.

I wonder whether they pick conservative players, knowing that gamblers would probably cost them/their insurers around twice as much.

Yes well, they just wasn't brave for one more round. This will probably be the best week for the Banker in the show's history.

Comprehensively disproved, IMO, by my understanding that producers do encourage (to a greater or lesser extent) No Dealing... but certainly they don't cast primarily for players as oblivious to risk as Mark claims to be. How the contestants are likely to act on the wings is far more important in casting, from all that I can tell.

Or at least I hope it is. :)

That was July 2008 - Louise and Lance both had £250k in consecutive shows, then Carol had the £100k. Not a fondly remembered era on this forum.

I was thinking yesterday that Lance and Carol won around £33k out of a possible £350k between them - compare that to Paul and Belinda's £145k total (yup, nearly 5 times more) and I think this is far, far from the show's worst week ever, and I think even the banker will agree.

Incidentally, did the show finish earlier today? I got in and turned the TV on at 4.55 expecting to see the summing-up or final box reveal, but they were onto the adverts already. :ponder:

Just be glad it wasn't Margaret playing any of these last few games. :)

Anyway, going by Mark's 4 reds v 1 blue at 5-box means an easy no-deal theory, today with 2 reds and 3 blues, wouldn't that have meant David should have been dealing? :laughing

The most famous example of the QM being brought to the table at the start of the game 2 days running (wording deliberate) was Alice and Wayne's games.

Understandable deal today with 30% chance of crashing to peanuts (and when far more unlikely things have happened this week - that looks quite a large % chance).

There's an argument that a less risk-averse player may have won the £100k today (the EV at 5-box was well over £11k even given really poor 2 box offers on the red/blue finishes) and we've seen a few players gambling mid £20k amounts on £100k/blue finishes before.

The run of relatively low amounts brought to the table has now been well and truly ended after the last 3 games.

AW, FOR F**K'S SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!

:x :( :? Image Image

First a £70k OBW, then a £75k OBW... now the Banker completes a VERY, VERY fortunate hat-trick.

Well, worst week in terms of the amount of money missed out on (currently £294k). Image Image Image

Another big red on the table.

Totally different to the last couple of shows in that David had nothing like as strong a board as Paul or David. £11,000 was, dare I say, slightly defeatist, Not that it wasn't understandable given the round David had just had, and I'm not actually going to say he should have played on one more round. In fact without the benefit of hindsight I would have said he should have gone at 8 box.

I just think the 8 box offer was right for David - Almost any other player I would have said Go on but I think for David it was time to bow out
