With going up £3,000... may as well go for it.

I was expecting it to be £10,000.

With a second extra offer from the banker, very worth accepting.

Noel runs through the previous offers. Laurie says she knows what she is going to do. Just as Noel is about to ask the question the Banker calls back and says he is happy to make the same offer again, and if Laurie plays on and misses the £75,000 she will get another offer. Laurie is ready, but the Banker calls again, and says that if Laurie plays on and finds the 1p, he will double the offer to £16,000. The Banker then says that if Laurie finds any of the blues the offer will now double to £16,000.

Laurie says

DEAL

Round 6 - Proveout boxes

22 - 1p David

Oh no, you would have doubled it says Noel. The Banker calls to confirm that Laurie would have been offered £16,000

3 - £75,000 Bekki

Banker time with £5 and £3,000 remaining

Not bad. Just one offer too soon. Can see why she dealt; a very risky board indeed.

What's wrong with £8,000? :suspect:

Would have played for the £16,000 myself - and then taken that even in the likely event of being handed a £32,000 guarantee for a £75k-high two-box - but how many players who get one box to open on one-box games decide to go "just one more" and then take it out?

She didn't, and it's a rather more well-earned eight grand than Margaret's. Surprised to see Noel in "it's your show and you can do whatever the hell you want" mode about it. Pleasantly surprised, because it implies he might possibly not be a hypocrite, but that was one of the few occasions where I'd not have chastised him for laying into the player.

I found the constant ring backs from the Banker at 4-box ever so annoying! :x For some reason he REALLY wanted her to go on.

Probably wanted to try and lure her into a crash.

I hate those extra offer phone calls in a show that's not a special. I really don't know why I just do.

I admire a player who knows they are going to deal and isn't going to be swayed by promises of good money (I don't agree with her decision not to risk it but £8k was a nice amount for her) - if it were me, I'd have wanted to know what the offer would have been for the £3k going too though.

Not the most exciting of games, the offers were in the doldrums unfortunately due to the board, stuck in that £4-8k bracket. The Banker's strategy at 5 box was interesting though and bought some life to proceedings.

I certainly think the 5 box twist was well worth taking, the second one a lot more debateable, certainly i wouldn't have taken it if it required taking out the 1p specifically

There's an article about Laurie's game in the Evening Express: http://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/Article.aspx/2600023
