David's game today.

Noel says Andria's game yesterday goes into the hall of fame, as it was the most ironic game in history! He says she was so positive and confident, and thought the banker would end up with no money after her game, but she ended up winning 1p.

David has box 5.

Noel has trouble pronouncing David's surname, and David reveals it's a Canadian name and he was born in Canada. David is the former mayor of Slough, and we get to see a photo of him with his wife, while he was wearing his mayor outfit. David has a crystal mouse with him which was given to him by a psychic, and he was told he'd never be penniless while he had it.

Here we go...

Round 1

David asks that no-one gives him advice, and he'll blame the mouse if things go wrong. He uses the mouse to help him choose the boxes!

17 - Gail - £50,000

22 - Kim - £5

2 - Tristan - £50

David says the mouse could fetch a lot on eBay if it works! Noel starts laughing and sets David off doing his donkey laugh. :P

1 - Charlton - 50p

Noel spots that the values so far have all had 5s in them.

8 - Baz - £250

Banker time

The banker says this is a huge relief, as he's had complaints that a man at the hotel bar has been claiming to be a former mayor, who has been asking ladies if they want to see his one-eyed mouse. :P

Banker's offer:

£10,000
+ 2 weeks of therapy and an oxygen mask!

For reference, I believe his full name (per an entry on mayors of Slough on Wikipedia, at least) is David Ian MacIsaac.

I am liking this board in terms of its potential to produce massive decisions.

Quite agree: you could call this "interesting" or "dangerous" depending whether you're sat in the Crazy Chair or watching.

David asks if he can talk to the banker, and the banker doesn't know if he should dare! The banker says only one thing surprises him more than the mouse, and that's that David was an elected public official. :P

Banker's offer:

£16,500

David says that's good, real money, and he could do a lot with it, including seeing his family in Canada.

Good offer. I'd have to go on with the big 3 still there, but generous.

You could scarcely have created an 11-box board less unlikely to produce a third-offer Deal - top three and not much else offers the scope for the Banker to make a significant offer and for the player to be scared enough to take it.

I don't think this is quite enough for me, but it wouldn't even warrant a footnote in a worst-Deal-ever debate if he took it, IMO...

He doesn't, inevitably enough. The 8-box offer is now going to be crucial.
