On here, I suppose, if you must, you can bore us all with your incisive comments of "Oh dear, Oh dear, should have been a lot more brave ... " when a deal goes wrong.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - a leopard never changes its spots. ;) ;)

It wasn't a good deal when he missed out on his only one chance at the jackpot. That board wasn't at strong as many other games at 8 box. Think of all the things he could have done with that jackpot. Much more than the £13,000.

It only looks like a bad deal with hindsight, which is all you're using here. Gordon didn't know he had the £250k!!

And as you point out, that wasn't a strong 8-box board even with the biggie in, so in that respect, taking that generous offer was the right thing for him at that point, which is all you can do in the game - look at what your board is currently like, how you feel about it, and judge the offer from there. DOND is ultimately a guessing game, and not everyone will guess correctly.

Well put, Brick. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but ultimately each player has to make a decision based on their situation and what they want from the game. Not every game will be perfect because it is a game of luck.
