Keith says that in some ways, this is a bigger gamble than Chris's gamble at the same stage yesterday. Rich says he'd go for it as she still has 2 good values on the board. Noel talks about how Chris said he didn't know what answer he was going to give when he asked the question.

Debbie says

NO DEAL

The banker says he'd have offered £53k if this had been a £20k vs £100k finish.

Banker's offer:

£5,300

Debbie asks her sister to join her at the pound table. Debbie says she's always said she'd never swap.

Actual LOL.

What a surprise, a rapid ND on an all-or-peanuts finish and a FD-territory offer... and a blue win. Would she ever have done that without the spin taken from yesterday's game, constantly mentioned throughout this one?

Box 10 with Wayne contains the £20,000

Debbie says it's alright, and speaks about what she can do with the £50! She then says it's not alright and doesn't know what to say.

Oh, that makes 53,000 times more sense, greeny. (Blue/£100k would probably have been £26k.)

WAYNE!!
He killed her game BIG TIME. If she had gone there instead, she'd have had £50 & £100,000. She probably would've been offered about £26k.

Oh dear, another £50. Hopefully, things will pick up sooner or later.

Agree with that. His 'opinion' of his box threw her right off track. Now if he'd had the £50 then I don't think he'd have been too popular at the hotel tonight.

EDIT : Or on said night after the recording.

Phil.

A couple of tough decisions today. 5-box was a borderline (11-box to an extent wasn't as bad as it looked as it was 50/50 that the top 2 stayed in play to 8-box).

To paraphrase Mark (who seems to be absent again after a blue win), should have been a bit more cautious today.

Another reason for having a pre-determined order of boxes - you can avoid the problems when people have "feelings" about a randomly chosen box amount.

I had a feeling Debbie would bring a blue to the table, I swear the Curse of the Mummy has returned with a vengeance.

On the whole though the poor contestants can't seem to get it right at the moment, either underselling their box or pressing to the end and winning a blue.
I can see what people are saying about Wayne sabotaging the game but that does rather assume she would have dealt. With a £50 / £100k finish and a decent final offer you would hope that she would have done just that, but if the red mist had descended then it's quite possible we would have had an even bigger crash.

Totally agree, what a Pratt, I really wish they'd shut up about feelings, it's a random game for goodness sake. It really does my head in when people have feelings about a bit of cardboard in front of them. If they were psychic they'd have won big on the lottery by now

Debbie seemed to be in a genuine quandry over the last 2 boxes on the wings, and I got the impression Wayne thought speaking up was the most helpful thing he could do - and to be fair it probably does feel awful seeing someone you've come to know as a friend be in that situation, and there being little you can do to help them. I'm not trying to justify what Wayne did, just shed some light on what was probably going through his mind at the time. I'm also wondering if Debbie really did instantly go for James' box after Wayne spoke, or if there was actually a gap between the talk and the choosing.

Debbie did say 10 was her Grandad's birthday so there's a possibility she may have ended up saving it anyway. And as Simon said, this is where the argument for pre-selecting boxes comes in - no matter how daft the reasons for choosing certain boxes to keep may be, they're not necessarily because people think the big money's guaranteed to be there, they're to avoid difficult situations like that!

There was quite a lot of reference to Chris' game yesterday but at least that was due to the similar board as much as anything else. Debbie came across as a lovely lady and I was sad to see her go away with a blue.
