Actually for once I completely agree with you!
I would have seen it as the offer would be dealable if the banker saw a blue and rubbish if he saw the £50k. There would be no "entertainment value" whatsoever if he saw a blue, offered £NO_DEAL and she took out the red first box, they want to produce exciting endings in a special week surely.
I appreciate the candidness! yes I know we disagree on mostly everything else but I'm glad Im not the only person who sees a real advantage (if you have a red) for the banker looking in the box. Sure it opens up the mind games issues but then if they can't stand the heat.....
Id love to have a duel with the banker in those circumstances. In fact as I've said before if I was going on the show I would throw down a challenge for the banker to look inside it at 11 box - if I got something powerful in return and I don't mean a 1 box at a time offer.
As to yesterdays game it wouldn't have affected the outcome imho as he was always going to the end. The banker would have seen the £5 and as you said, would he have offered a £no_deal or something closer to the grand to keep some sense of interest in the game. Who knows, but he wouldn't have dealt regardless.
Max's game would be completely different with the £50k in her box and Im sure she would have gone home with more cash if that scenario had played out. I really do think thats the best outcome if you are really playing to have a p5 in your box. Think of all the Tollecks, Robs etc who actually had the £250k in their box, yet dealt earlier. How different it may have been if the banker had seen the big one at 11 box!
I don't think I've ever seen the scrooge twist acted out in live play
Maybe xmas 2010? Was it on one of those games?
