Interesting game. Very surprising no deal at the end there. Given the way he was talking up even Noel's joking teaser-offer I felt sure Gary was going to deal and personally while i might have risked it at £19k I think £24k was just enough to secure a deal.

Only Gary knows for certain if he made a reasoned decision or if he got lost in the moment and i'd never criticise anyone for following their heart but that was a tough ending. You could feel the reverberations in the wings.

Brave gamble at the end - shows that Noel's fake offer tactic doesn't always mean the play is going to deal.

As a minor wrestling fan, I'd never heard of Gary but the world title he won was the NWA version which has a very long history and has been held by some of the greats of the wrestling business (although Gary's reign lasted about a week)

And here I was thinking my lucky number would provide a huge win...

I knew I recognized that belt! Mad that DonD have had a former NWA World Champ on their show.

Here's what I believe to be his Wiki for anyone interested:

My Mrs made a good point yesterday that rings true in this game. Whenever the banker rings Noel, it can be a short, succinct conversation yet he gives this long rambling discourse that we're meant to believe the banker has said all this over the phone. When it comes to upping the offers, the banker may just give him a keyword to do this. Though I am aware that the banker can be heard by all the crew even when its only Noel on the phone, so he could possibly be feeding Noel direction via an earpiece.

All the crew? Noel does wear an eapiece - even his goldilocks doesn't always hide it. After so many shows his prompter must have become very adept at feeding all the relevant info to Noel. Although we have seen an error recently caused by his 'poor memory'.

What Id just love to see is Noel doing the ad nauseum padding just before the swap phone call and the the player lifting the receiver off the hook thereby stopping it ringing! Noel would go bezerk!

I think the camera men can hear the banker as they often laughed at jokes the banker said before Noel had shared them.
