Wow, the same scenario as with Al - fourth offer £12k, which is very good given the board, and the decision won't be made until after the break...

Noel seems to be protesting too much about how nothing happened to Fi during the break, so as to highlight the honesty of the show; I reckon they actually briefly dipped her in the Avon.

What a round and what a 5-box says Noel. The Banker says what a fascinating situation Fi has created, as for the first time in the shows history we won't find out what this offer would have been until the end of the game!

This is an extraordinary game says Noel. The Banker says it is time to come clean now, and he thought Fi's target was low

Banker's offer would've been:

£10,000

Box 17 with Elaine contains the £3,000

Noel opens his book and reveals that Fi's target was £9,500, and that would have been her offer if she played on. Fi says she feels amazing and that will sort out her daughter for her first year at uni.

The Banker calls and says that this has been a unique game, and the Banker noticed something in Fi's eye when he made his 2nd round offer of £9,500, and that is why he knew her target was around £10,000.

£9,500?! He would've offered THAT with £250k, £20k and £3k?!
Urgh... what a mess of a game. And that £12k was appalling at 35% of the average.

You can forget about averages for the board today. Fi had her sights for dealing for a small figure so The Banker was more playing towards Fi's personal background than figures on the board.

Well that was a first around 5-box, but it was a deal too early still

yes i thought that. compare and contrast to Debs game which would have been shot just a few hours earlier so was fresh in everyones memory including Noels! A conspiracy theorist would say that in Debs game someone gave someone a nod and a wink that she had the big one in her box and the offers were extremely high to reflect that knowledge. Extremely high by usual standards.

Still can't get over that offer of £63k with a very similar board to todays at five box.
Debs- (£250k, £50k, £15k, £10, 50p) offered and dealt £63k vs
Fi (£250k, £20k, £3k, £750, 50p) offered and dealt £12k.

Okay I know theres a little difference with the second and third highest amounts but an offer difference of £52k. Yes, theres the pyschological difference etc etc, but Fi could still have had the £250k in her box unless someone on the team knew otherwise. I'll get my coat.

Its difficult to judge that without a realistic offer at 5 box. I suppose the moral is not to reveal your dreams even to a secret book.
She actually ended up with her best offer until her box was opened - she was happy -so well done :smt023

Again, a deal that was arguable either way. 9.5k would have been very low at 5-box, especially with the 250k still in play. Indeed, just short of Tolleck's record!

Anyway, I liked Fi, and I'm glad she got a good sum out of the game. I was worried, after all those big sums she had early on in her tenure (she had the 250k twice in her first three games IIRC), that she'd crash and win a blue. Glad I was wrong! :D

So the Banker said he would offer whatever target was written in the book. What if I wrote £250,000?

Is it just me who thinks the five-box no-hypothetical was designed to ensure that a proveout spin could be written after the game's end? So if there was less in the box, they could push the "bravery" angle by asserting an inflated hypo lie?

Anyway, glad they didn't. £20k would have been probable at five-box I fancy, offering the most common target on a board that could viably be valued in that ballpark, not to mention "putting the offer on the board".
