Hallelujah - it's an OPW...

But I stand by what I said about those attempts by the Banker to make this game more interesting.

Apologies for sounding miserable here...

I assumed it was some sort of in-joke and the words actually meant something. I wondered if the different words told a story, but I don't think so. Noel never revealed what he wrote in the book either!

An OPW and were still not satisfied, due to how the game went...seems like such a long while since we had a proper and fantastic OPW

I'm OK with these twists, provided they don't use them too often.

Twists like this are OK, as they're not guaranteed to work in the players favour (Anthony could just as easily have hit the 50k in the second box). But twists like Natalie's that are so obviously designed to help the player out I'm not too keen on.

I'm just pleased Anthony got a Spanking. ;) We needed one. Let's hope for some more.

Shannon and Sophie's games weren't that long ago!

That was one of the more sureal games in recent memory, though i would have appreciated some sort of explanation as to Anthony's sysyem and whether the random words actually meant anything. LoL at Elaine who couldn't think of a subtle way to work the word sock into her good luck message (Sock it to the Banker is the obvious one that springs to mind).

And one box at a time really worked in his favour this time, that was an impeccably timed deal and after yesterday's near miss a welcome OPW.

A very enjoyable game with the kind of eccentricity that does make DOND so enjoyable to watch sometimes (especially when they have to make a cold December day look like April).

Sensible decision - even with £20k being offered for the all red finish, I couldn't see the £50k/blue being more that £15k, which made the EV of the 2-box offer around £12k, so only really worth going on if a player was prepared to open his box.

I was referring to the wins on a bigger scale around the £50k-£100k

Serious question: how many £50k+ wins have there been in DoND history? Just wondering if this is an unusually long period without one.

Sophie's was close enough ;)

Well, the last contestant to win £50k or more was of course Dale - and that was three months ago now... ;)

I make it a minimum of (given I've done this looking through the archives sans spreadsheet)

32 wins of £75k and above
14 wins over £50k but below £75k
23 wins of exactly £50k

So 69 players who have won £50k or more out of 1,599 players.

This was the first and probably the best of the games I saw that freezing day in December. Although there was no snow, the trees had a thick h.ore frost decorating them when I arrived in the morning and the temperature was well below zero all day. :unsure

The contestents had hatched up the random words idea in the hotel but I don't know why those words or whether there was a link. I think Anthony's "system" was to work from left to right leaving some numbers out but I don't think he stuck to it.

I was in the centre of the front row, right of aisle. Even Noel was getting worried about Michael towards the end. When he asked the pilgrims if he should get him back before the break I can be heard saying "give him a jumper".

Anthony would have done anything to get the most out of the game and he went home with good smile money :smt023
