You're loving this now Noel tells Barbara. Noel talks about how Barbara's husband mentioned that £16,000 was the new governor.

Banker's offer:

£19,000

A lot of posturing but I think she will deal and end up with the 50k or 250k in her box.

Noel says the Banker had to go that high as he was shaken when Barbara turned down the £7,000. Noel says he thinks that is the kitchen and helping her family. Barbara goes to Alex for some advice, and he says that is a lot of cash and very near the figures they were talking about the other night. Barbara says she is feeling lucky now. She talks about only being here once.

Barbara says

DEAL

£19,000 was a very low offer in my opinion... not even 40% of the mean...

OH DEAR...another player who should have been more brave.

Hopefully this will be the Banker's Gamble...

Oh Barbara, says Noel, as he asks if Barbara should have played on. Barbara says she is happy with her decision

Banker's offer would've been:

£70,000

And it was the newbie who had it, no wonder she didn't go to him

Im pretty sure if she had not dealt at 19k, she would have dealt at 70k. As has been said before the older players are by virtue more conservative. Could she have spent 70k in her lifetime? Unlikely. She would have her kitchen and the rest would have been divvied up with the family - I bet a few of them were rueing her for not going on the extra round.

The 20k figure offer by the banker seems to work wonders on the Bettys, Eileens, Ethels, Doris, Beryl players when confronted with a power five scenario at 5 box.

Pilgrims trustworthy? Of course! Ahem. Yes, no major starring role for me in that one - in fact I got moved out of shot after the intro being in the relative slot! :(

Actually, I forgot how funny that game was (perhaps due to tomorrow's... ;) ), it was indeed regrettable she didn't so on, I was thinking around £26k in the studio. However, with essentially a 60% chance of the offer going down (hitting the £250k, although 3k/50k would be slightly more), it was understandable. Good entertainment, anyway.

£50 on the table again, interesting... :suspect:

£50,000 with little to back it and the big one up, as long as it was £20,000 or more I'd be happy to deal...£19,000 would really have been pushing it for me but I don't blame her for dealing, especially when both her and her husband were expecting £16,000...

Despite missing out on £51,000 extra, at least there was no regrets about not going for the £250,000! :)

I kind of wish her husband didn't mention the £16K. I think the offer may have been the Governor (£26K) if he just shut up.
It was the right board for it too.

Yes, I was thinking the same when I saw this being filmed back in November.
