Noel says there have recently been games with a challenging gamble, and the banker thinks this offer is Paul's. The banker rings Andrew and Simon, and Andrew says he thinks £10k - £15k would tempt Paul, and Simon says he thinks £13k would do it. The banker rings Noel and says you have to do what Simon says!

Banker's offer:

£13,000

If I were the banker's assistant, I'd be suggesting really good offers.

£13k is a good offer. My classic 2-box game at 8-box scenario applies here and take a big red and a back up out here and it won't go up much (if it does at all)

Worth another round. Hopefully the mug offer won't work.

Paul says if the banker throws in one of the mugs, he may consider the offer! The banker phones Noel and then rings Andrew and Simon, and they say he should have the mug so they can get him cheap! The banker rings Noel back and says he doesn't want to throw in a mug but he's outvoted!

Banker's offer:

£13,000 + mug

Paul says that's a lot of money and reveals that he wants to give his step-mum a holiday.

Paul says

DEAL

The banker says Paul is one box away from spanking him, and he says Andrew and Simon can be physically spanked!

Banker's offer would've been:

£9,000

Paul speaks to the banker and says what he'll do with the money. The banker says he's going to fly solo from now on! Noel says people often guess the banker is Lord Sugar, so he passes on a message to Andrew and Simon, which is "YOU'RE FIRED!".

Banker's offer would've been:

£300

Paul's box 8 contains the £50

Box 17 with Andy contains the £1,000

Noel says he thinks it's great that Paul wants to use some of the money for his mum.

The banker's assistants get a namecheck in the credits. Well an unusual game but you can't argue with a sensible deal at 8-box producing an OPW.

Hopefully, it made some of tweeters who made non-complimentary comments about Paul today eat some of their words.

A cautious deal that led to an OPW, good going I say

Good offers, actually, and plenty of interesting comedy. An OPW to boot - good Sunday material, this.

I stand by my idea from ages ago that a good idea for Banker's Birthday Week would be for him to "take the week off" and have former statistical players entrusted with the offers.

I thought £13K was a good offer for the board. If either £100K or £75K was taken out then the offer was guaranteed to fall and the board would be precarious. The average would've plummeted to about £17K at 5-box.

Oh, and it was one of the best Sunday games I've seen in a while.
