I was surprised when Tomas dealt the same offer as Sherilyn. At least he didn't go at the 3rd offer. I certainly understood dealing £8,000 at 8-box.

£250,000 in the second round AGAIN?!
How many times has that happened this week? 4?

It has indeed happened four times this week!!

What are the chances?!

And in the only other game - Beryl's - it goes in the first round... :(

Yet Noel appears to be taking absolutely no notice of this.   Even his short-term memory is getting pretty bad...

Tomas was for my money the funniest contestant i've seen in a very long time, perhaps in the whole 5 years of Deal. His story about the doll had me in stitches (it's the way he tells 'em) and his magic trick was pretty good too.

Yes it was a prudent deal but i'll take one of those over a trainwreck any day of the week

Well no one can expect him to remember over 1500 shows, the game show really needs a stats person who can look through the archive and correct Noel if he's wrong

But we're only talking about the last five shows here (including this one).

And if he can't remember that the £250k went early in all five, then as I said, even his short-term memory must be getting pretty bad.

Which is why I think a new host down the line is inevitable for the show...

A new host would surely kill the show at this late stage in its life.

Noel is associated with this show to an extent that makes him nigh-on irreplaceable. He does some things very well, several things far from well in my opinion; however, his ability to do shows borderline as-live, and to bounce comedically off contestants, are critical to the format as it stands in this country.

Noel Edmonds IS Deal or No Deal. I doubt the show would survive without him.

I agree. He does get on my wick from time to time, but he does 3 or 4 shows a day and is the glue that holds it all alltogether. The show would be lost without him.

I guess we should grin and bear it, then, if his memory continues to get worse...

I couldn't imagine anyone hosting DOND. Like others, as much as I could throttle Noel sometimes, there aren't many people who could host the show as well as him.

This was one of those classic episodes, not for the gameplay, but thanks to the Tomas. He provided some great entertainment to what would have been an average game.

This is what makes DoND unique compared to other game shows is its randomness and the players they get. Whilst the core of the show remains the same even a rather average game can be livened up and be highly enjoyable thanks to the player and indeed Noel who plays a big part in it too and is always quick-thinking and on the ball (usually).

Now the show has been extended we will tend to see some more "dragged out" games, but in games like this it's good that they have the extra time to show more banter. In fact with a player like Tomas it actually kind of works in the show's favour if there aren't any mega money decisions to make as it allows them to include more fun stuff with the player. Though of course you still want to see a player like Tomas go away with a reasonable amount of money and luckily he did.

I also agree that Noel is "The Host" for DoND now and any changes now would be risky. Noel's been there over 5 years and the players and viewers alike now know what to expect from Noel and type of banter and humour he has on the show, along with his relationship with The Banker. It just wouldn't feel right if Noel was to go. However, if he had to be replaced, I think Bradley Walsh wouldn't be a bad choice. Having seen him on The Chase he seems like the type who could replace Noel if needed. He jokes around with the contestants and has some banter with them and The Chaser and seems to be able to handle the show well.
