Around £18k here would be believable.

It's a fact you have made a mistake says Noel.

Banker's offer would've been:

£18,500

No need for a huge offer for the guilt trip. Old faithful would do

What a contrast says Noel. The Banker says his job is to always find a player's breaking point so he can avoid this situation

Banker's offer would've been:

£28,000

Oh dear... another player who should have been a lot more brave. She had her chance, but blew it.

Should have kept to her word and went all the way.

Oh dear... oh dear.

Never mind says Irene.

Dale with box 8 contains the £5

Noel says it has been a very frustrating week for him, but Irene says she made the decisions and what will be will be.

What is it with players named Irene?!?

They always have bad luck in some way! This one's just suffered an OPL... :(

How can Noel say we could have a £100k winner today? Not a chance she would have gambled £28k today even had she no dealt the £10k after a long thought process.

An OPL in definition but not as bad as others when the second lowest offer was only £1k more than she took.

I really don't get why these players say they're going all the way and then don't. Why say that if you're going to bottle out at £10K?
That second offer was rubbish. Why does an ALL BLUE round only make that a £2K increase?

Seemingly they were absolutely terrified about a 14-box Deal...

Well done Endemol for picking another cautious player who will save you money!

We are officially in 2008 once again, folks...

In the hope that you might be able to bluff the banker into giving you better offers. I really thought Irene might have been a gambler today.

I agree, i thought Ireen was one of the few i met that was there to play the game no matter what and would have went all the way, still as i have said many times it all changes when your in that chair for real no matter what advice you give from the wings. ;)

I suppose we can't blame her for talking the talk early in the game(don't almost all players try to take a dominant role against the banker?), but she did have fighting spirit and I was surprised she dealt given she said she was there to play and all her family had good jobs - so taking £10k when £100k was on the table did seem a bit of a washout. She seemed to get skittish as soon as the £250k went. In that situation I was very happy to see the proveout go wrong and missing out on the £100k. Her eyes glazed over at that point and came out with the "never mind it wasn't to be" Yeh, right luv and the 'Cocky Scotts' of this world go home with 50p. :(

I'm not being ageist here, but I think most of the older players I've seen are cautious by nature and would consider £10k is a huge amount of money to them - given they wouldn't have a mortgage, done most of the things they wanted to do in life and well their kids would get their house as inheritance anyway. A 100k win would just mean the kids would be able to syphon off more sooner and the older player would consider a lower guaranteed sum a safer bet (she admitted she chickened out!). I know if my nan of the same age won a 100k the family would be queuing up for handouts for this and that and the money would heammorage away in a matter of months.

Now we just need to expect the players receive another lambasting by Noel and some strong cocky players like Scott going home with blues.
