The banker rings and says David really needs an offer after every box now, so that's what he'll give David, as long as David gives back the £1,500 that he won during the Santa specials!

Banker's offer:

BANKER'S SPECIAL GAMBLE

David says

NO DEAL

David keeps the £1,500 and he'll get an offer after 3 more boxes

David says that's more than he thought it'd be. Noel says people were frustrated after yesterday's game, and he wonders if David thinks this is a healthy gamble. He says the minimum he could get is £2,000 as he already has £1,500.

David says

NO DEAL

The others rush over to congratulate David.

Box 10 with newbie Georgina contains the £500

David's total winnings are therefore £16,500

Tuned into the end as I got home early, caught Noel's two-box spiel, and started envying those who can't get home on time to watch this show. If that wasn't a decision made under duress I don't know what is. The fact he might have made the same decision on his own (and £6,500 on a £2k/£16.5k finish feels a bit different from £5k on a £500/£15k finish) is neither here nor there, because we've all now seen and heard an open statement from the host that going to the end is something to be proud of in and of itself. Forgive me for being unimpressed.

A good win - but it was asking too much for this game to be quite as remarkable as yesterday's.

13 - Zowie - £250,000 :(

A certain word beginning with J and ending with X comes to mind here...

Goodness don't mention the J**x word

David kept his cool and did very well. A funny genuine guy who helped a lot of others with his advice and it was good to see him go all the way and win £15k :smt023

Can't argue with much of that. Like yesterday, not really many decisions to make but the right one made at 2-box with a good result.

That game couldn't have been more different to yesterdays if they'd planned it.

When the Banker made his one-box-at-a-time offer at 5 box i did wonder if we might see the first ever player to finish their game with less money than they started with :-D
He turned down the offer of course but it turns out it wouldn't have mattered had he accepted it (except to get his stake money back he'd have needed to go to the end anyway so OBAAT would have been a redundant incentive, wouldn't it? :ponder: )

Anyway the sort of game that makes gamblers of us all, the only way to recover from luck that bad is to hold out and hope you've got a decent sum in your box.
