Round 5

9 - £50 Hitch

17 - £3,000 Jaron

It's all or nothing now says Noel. The Banker calls again and is worried about his car! He wants to do a bit of a deal with Fadi on the condition he can keep his hub-caps on his car! He tells Noel to go to the Tree Spirit now!

Noel runs through the Trick or Treat twists, which are: There is a Tree Spirit in the corner of the studio that will come into play, and the player will choose one of its eyes - one eye has a treat behind it and if they find it, they get a holiday and an offer after every box; the other eye has a trick behind it and if they find it, the banker will look in their box, but they're guaranteed the swap at 2-box!

Fadi picks GREEN - It is TRICK

Red contains the TREAT

The son of the tree spirit takes Fadi's box away so the Banker can look inside it.

Why would the Banker do that? To provide something approaching a decision. That's also why the twist came out at six-box.

Both sides did well to get anything out of that game.

Yes, pretty horrendous luck for Fadi, which was a real shame as he had a great spirit and seemed to be popular with most of the contestants. He took the run well and tried to remain positive, and there was some great banter throughout the recording. In the end, £1,750 seemed huge, a blue win seemed very much on the cards, so some relief.

You do know what the word 'random' means, yes? (It doesn't mean 'must be spread out reasonably evenly', if you were thinking that.)

Well it could've been randomised again, so that wouldn't happen

Well both sides did well to at least create some interest in an apparent unaviodale trainwreck, and £1,750 at least is useful cash. Not every game can be a classic and we had two just before this! :)

What, so that people might be able to get information about where the remaining Power 5 boxes are or aren't, based on what's already been revealed? Thus ruining the entire premise of the game, you mean?

No, it would still remain under wraps, if the randomising happened twice before the bag of balls come into play

Are you under the impression that they shuffle the amounts like in a pack of cards, and that somebody just didn't do a very good shuffle or something? Because that isn't how it works at all.

In any truly random process, clusters will appear. (Noel often refers to this phenomenon by saying how 'things come in cycles'.) If you think about it, there must be clusters appearing, since having everything evenly spaced out every time would make things predictable, and therefore not random. So it's entirely understandable that in nearly 1500 games, the power five amounts will end up in similarly numbered boxes one time through genuine random chance. Contrary to what you appear to be arguing then, seeing such a thing happen occasionally actually supports the argument that the randomising process is working properly.
