If only she had been a lot more brave. Perfect end to the first week of the season. But for her, too much of a risk to gamble.

Max with box 7 contains the £50

Maria says she is really gutted, but the £8,000 means so much to her.

Maria struggled to get to £8k. I think it was unfair not to give her a second offer - she wouldn't have taken it but it took away momentum in the game - especially as the next 2 rounds after it almost killed the game.

Can't blame her for taking £8k, another case of very good banker play at 2-box.

I have been reading the comments regarding Maria earlier this week and saying she could've won £250,000 if it was her game etc... I would like to point out two things.

1) The producers decide before the first recording on the day who plays on the three shows for that day. Meaning the box selection, done by the auditor and the contestants are are prodceeded after the three players have been already selected.

2) If Maria played when she had £250,000 last week then she wouldn't have won it. Today's show proved she isn't a risk taker and if it was the case then KB would simply say "another mismatched game".

I disagree, cause if played with the biggie in her box thinking that the biggie would stay all the way through to 2-box, then maybe she would have more courage to win it

It's all hypothetical though unless you have a player that has a fixed order of boxes they are going to pick then you would know what their board's would be at key points but you would never know what mood the banker was going to be in.

Good game, nice recovery.

Am i alone in feeling that Maria was slightly cheated out of a second offer? That swap seemed to come from nowhere, and is there really a precedent for offering it to 'long servers', because i can think of a few people who exceeded 22 shows but didn't get it.

Anyway. that aside I thought Maria played it well, she was fairly unlucky with the boxes though.

I've never heard of the swap being offered just because the player had been there a long time. Part of me thinks that Maria was offered the swap at the second offer to stop her dealing. She seemed to be really thinking about her first offer, more than most players do. Her second offer would probably have been higher than the first, it may have been enough to get her to deal.

Honestly, she looked like she might have dealt the first offer. With the second round being a goodun too, I actually think she was offered the swap to stop her dealing.

Well, in a week where Maria had the £250k 3 times, I can safely say that she wouldn't have won it if she had brought it to the table again here. She seemed a very cautious player, and any hint of big money I think she would have taken.
