This is shaping up to be an amazing board for 8-Box

Could this in fact be a £30k offer is the next box is blue?

Note that Jodie is now guaranteed £50, which has some psychological significance, and that she has the same top four as a couple of other huge games I can remember (JT being the first, there's been others too I can't name offhand who've taken those four to five-box).

If this is £30k, this will be a tough decision.

Noel says he likes this game enormously, and he says it's horrific for the banker. The banker says he's still convinced Jodie's target is £30,000.

Banker's offer:

£25,000

Crikey, this is a great board.

It will probably be £30k, and I'd play on, but it wouldn't take much more to stop me.

Wait a minute. You're convinced £30k is the target, you want to stop her on a great board that could support a £30k offer, and you offer £25k? Stop pretending otherwise and admit you're actually wanting to produce a big gambling game. That's a poor offer.

£25,000 isn't quite enough to call it quits

Interesting twist but is a 37.5% chance worth risking trying for an extra £5k. I think I'd go on here.

The banker says if Jodie says NO DEAL, she can open 1 box. If that 1 box is blue, he'll immediately make an offer of £30,000. But if it is NOT a blue, he won't make a call, and she'll have to open 2 more boxes before the next offer.

Jodie says the 1-box offer is an amazing opportunity, and she's lucky to have it.

Jodie says

NO DEAL

Round 5

If this box is BLUE, the banker will immediately make an offer of about £30,000.

The banker says that was a massive gamble that Jodie took.

Banker's offer:

£30,000

Oh-kay then. Didn't see that coming. I stand by my initial remark that the producers wanted the game to go on past eight-box, even if it was to seven-box ;)

And with two to open I'd turn down £30k here.

Well if you are going to turn down £25k at 8-box, statistically you should turn down £30k now. Banker reckons that's her target so statistics may not come into it.

And there's the £30k, even with that board I would go on

Just realised through checking stats; this is a below-FD offer and the 17-box (!!) offer was above the FD... I would be gambling in an instant, I'd probably want £40k to even think here with only two to open (as the worst-case scenario is a five-box offer of £10k or more).

I think she's dealing here..

Wow.. she's not. Let's hope she gets the luck that goes with the right statistical decision.

Jodie says she can't believe this is happening to her! Noel says if she found the 2 big ones in the next 2 boxes, then it'll be a massive crash, however Noel also talks about what the banker would offer if she found 2 blues now. The banker phones back and talks about how Jodie's home and her garden, and how much she needs the money for her home.

He says he's just signed a cheque for £30,000 and put it an envelope which has "There's no place like home" on it.

Jodie says

NO DEAL
