Round 6 - Proveout round

2 - 1p Ahmed

There are huge gasps for that one.

4 - £20,000 Neil

There are some shouts of YES, and the Banker calls and says the next offer would either be £85 or £85,000.

20 - 10p Alan

Banker time with £750 and £250,000 remaining

Banker's offer would've been:

£85,000

Noel asks Liam if he would have kept his box. Liam says he always said he would SWAP.

Noel swaps Liam's box and he now has box 9

Noel opens Liam's box 9 and reveals £250,000

You sir should have been our first male £250,000 winner says Noel.

Oppps says Liam, but £26,000 isn't too shabby.

Lee opens box 6 and reveals £750.

Well, that was a more enjoyable game than most recently. Yeah, he could have had considerably more, but it was fairly tense in round five and he won much more than anyone else in the past week.

Also, it seems that everyone lately who has a 250k/something else final two hypo swaps...

At last a game where the player has to make a decision for decent money. For me, the 5-box deal was a fairly easy one. Not sure whether the carrot of an £85k offer at 2-box for keeping the QM in play would have persuaded me to no-deal.

This whole male QM thing is getting silly. We've never had an English £250k winner but Noel doesn't mention that all the time. If we'd have had 10 female winners and no male ones then it might be a good point but with only 2 female QM's, it's all hot air from Noel.

There's not much chance £85k would have been no dealt today so the hypo-swap was in the pointless category today.

Just when things couldn't get worse, this happens! :smt009

It's all going horribly wrong since the start of last week and the Season 5 finale is not far off either

What are you on about? Today's game was far better than Gem's, and Dave's, and De's, and pretty much everyone else from the previous eight days.

26k with regrets > pocket change with regrets

I wouldn't be ecstatic if it'd just been revealed that I'd missed out on winning the 250k.

I think Liam made the right decision for the board at the time, £26k was a decent 5 box offer given he only had one box higher than that still in play, just unlucky it didn't pan out for him.

That hypo swap was painful though and i can understand his regret (whether it be for the £250k or the £85k) but it could have just as easily gone the other way.

Not sure how i feel about the Banker trying to repeat the trick he pulled with Michael's girlfriend, especially as it would have had much the same result. While i enjoy his mindgames as an abstract sometimes the results can be a little uncomfortable

Well, most of us agree that was a lot better than games recently, and I think he did make the correct decision at the time for the board he had, especially with the 1p AND 10p still remaining (a finish which I've had the dubious pleasure of witnessing first-hand at the dream factory in '09, when Gillian had the nightmare final round. Anyway... ).

To end up with the Jennifer/Rodney/Tolleck/Winston/Paul/Owain finish was unfortunate, it'd have been nice to get a decent OPW for once from a sensible decision, but at least he has a lot more than most have won recently. And there's no way he wouldn't have taken £85k, so the hypo swap was, once again, completely pointless.

I watched the end of Million Pound Drop then read this recap. The former was probably less frustrating.

'should' have won 250k? Via turning down a Corinne-esque offer and then swapping? (Why does the hypo-swap always seem to happen when 250k is last on the wings, but not consistently when it's on the table?) To claim that 'should' have been done - when the player made a questionable eight-box gamble and made unprompted mention of Noel's manipulative line du jour as it was - has really irritated me, and partly ruined a really good evening.

The game itself was intriguing and exciting and generally what I enjoy in the game, and the result was a good Big Relief Win after the eight-box risk was rewarded. Why does it need to feel so bad?

At least matt26 gets it with his rebuke of KB.
