Round 6 (proveout)...

Noel wants the spanking...Glen would have kept box 8 to the end...

Box 22 - Andy - £500

Box 5 - Emma - 10p

Laura's finish is imminently talked up here! The Banker rings to confirm if this is not the £250,000 then the offer would have been £50,000!

Box 4 - Sharon - £250,000 :D

Banker time!!!

Only £50k - I guess that's consistant with Laura's stated exit fee but it's academic now.

Banker's offer would've been:

£1,000

I was wrong but it did look like going that way. And only 1 person has completely spanked the banker this week.

Imagine if he went for 8 and not 4...would've lost out on a lot

Still Glen played it brilliantly and a good game to finish the week

Glen's box 1 contains £3,000!

Brendan opens box 8 which contains the £100

Glen can't find words to describe the win, and £15,000 will go a long way for him and his family...Rachel comes down to congratulate her partner to wrap the show up :D Apart from Noel reminding Glen he could have won £15,000 by chucking her earlier! :P

(Everyone happy with that?! :P )

This is where what Dan Judge said about prefering to see all the people he knew have a "boring" game and walking out with £15,000 than have an exciting blue win applies to me - I knew Glen from school as he was in my year, and I still see him out in town sometimes (not since he appeared on the show though!). And one of my best friends knows him a lot better than I do.

I didn't really mind if he dealt really early as long as he won something decent, and not only did he manage that, he was the only person this week to get an OPW! (Though I grant it would have been a very average show for me had I not known him)!

I have to admit I expected to the £250k to stay to 2-box too - it always does when they leave in the edit the banker's phone call at 3-box saying what the next offer would be if it stayed! :)

So a very well done!

Small world, James! :D

Yeah when they mentioned Laura's finish a lot, I thought it was coming a mile off...thank god for box 4 yet again with a big amount though!

Even better than the OPW is not having a certain forum member saying he'd have won £250k today!

(I might well have done so myself if I'd kept box 4 to the end and swapped, which I briefly mused about adopting as a tactic - although I think it was to appease certain forum members... but if you're not prepared for the crash at £15k, you need to Deal. He wasn't, he dealt, he escaped the crash. Good work!

Incidentally KP, I know you say you'd always swap at the end, do you have a designated number you would want to swap for?

Today seems to be a good example of people becoming more risk-averse as they progress through the game. Considering the previous offer of 11k, I didn't think that an extra 4k was that great an increase tbh (was expecting 17-18k), but it's a much more scary board, since the chances of taking the biggest amount have gone up from 37.5% to 60%. Not that taking 15k was bad or anything, it's just an interesting observation...

Also, why does KB feel the need to point out what a contestant had in their box the previous day? It has no relevance whatsoever to the game at hand...

Other people have raised the point about it, not just me

True, I was just listing you as an example since you seem to do it a lot. It just seems pointless. It's still a 1 in 22 chance of them having a specific amount; what they had before doesn't change that. Many people on the show have fallen into this trap as well...

Just to say a big thank you to Big-Davey for helping out with the commentary today. :D

(I was at the Bristol contestant reunion and Kes was visiting family which is why we needed help!)

A nice little game, not a classic and not especially memorable though Glen seemed amiable enough, but it played out beautifully,

Despite an awful start Glen recovered to get some respectable offers and got out at the ideal time. I'd rather see a Banker Spanking than a £250k win (though the £250k is actually a spanking now i come to think of it  )

17. This is a nod to commentating on the European Ultimate Championships when I was at university - Ultimate (Frisbee) is usually played as first-to-17! It's that simple :)

I was a bit distracted by Glen's other half throughout, it was really bugging me who she reminded off :blueponder Until it popped in at the last minute: Samantha Cameron!

Double

A rather reserved game, and really quite tense throughout, I could see it all falling apart at the end,but thankfully, I was very wrong :smt023
