Barbara says she came here with nothing and she'd be happy to leave with £5k. But Noel points out that she just no dealt £7,500! Tom talks about things Barbara said while she was in the bar, so Noel changes her name badge so it reads "BAR".

She calls her friend down from the audience and talks about how much the money means.

Barbara says DEAL

You'll start KP off now...... although he is watching the full version today.

Actually I'm just following it live from this commentary thread as I don't want Noel to make me really angry less than 48 hours before two job interviews.

...oh, OK, it's a Deal. Riiiight. Well, from the Banker's notional perspective that is a fantastic result for him regardless of proveout.

Or the banker knew that £5k would be enough to get her out the chair.. in which case it's clever play (if not nice viewing)

Hmm, I didn't think that was a good time to deal but we'll see

Round 6 (proveout)

22 - Chris - £5

1 - Caine - £250

Noel says if this is £100, it's actually a disaster.

2 - Beryl - £100

Banker time with £15,000 and £75,000 remaining.

Just been a bit more brave and it would have paid off.

The banker tells Barbara not to worry about it, as she's made herself happy and she's made him happy!

Banker's offer would've been:

£37,500

The bigger mistake was made by revealing early on that she wasn't a gambler.

It's just a shame that one of the few big reds to be bought to the table in the last few weeks was coupled with a player who the banker read perfectly.

Box 18 with Neide contains the £15,000

Barbara says she's alive and that's all that matters.

Ugh!

She could've been a huge winner at the end, these players are starting to struggle again :?

Well, all I can say to that is that I'm awfully glad that happened to someone whose courage was not in question or this would have been one of Noel's worst moments of the season.

The sad thing is, he'd even have had half a point... that really was a poor deal in my mathematical book, and the Banker thoroughly deserves the OBW for recognising that Barbara was desperate not to win a blue.

I think that's the lowest-ever sale of the £75,000 box. :(

Terribly unlucky. Yet another of those games where a killer fifth round advises caution to take a lower offer at 5-box...the all-blue round was just confirmation of the timing :(

Ah well! As everyone said, £5,000 made her very happy

Neide had box 18

I think pretty much everyone would have got at least £37,500 there (unless you swap, and even then you'd win 3 times what Barbara won)

Indeed, this is what happens when desperation comes into play

Not long before I inscribe Justin's name on the "Season 5's Highest Winner" trophy

£37,500 would have been a No Deal for me, with £15,000 guaranteed so I'd have won £75,000 today...

I must admit though, I wasn't a big fan of the albeit false spoilers posted in here...they're forbidden from this section of the forum for a reason and has seen past members removed from the site for it...just a word of warning! :)

£15,000 was a good enough back up for me to turn down the £37,500, so it'd have been £75,000 for me too. However, the 75k was never going to be claimed by Barbara, given she seemed very cautious (as proved by the deal she took).

I have to say, I wasn't expecting Barbara to play today at all...

Other than that, the incredible run of blues on the table finally comes to an end. 5k really was a poor offer for the board (really, an offer of 5k with four blues and 75k would be poor...), and well done to the banker for reading her so well, but the money clearly meant a lot to her, and she seemed happy with what she won, so she clearly played the game the way she wanted to.

Besides, there have been worse deals in the past...
