The banker says congratulations, as sometimes it takes courage to accept a low offer when you've previously had higher offers.

Banker's offer would've been:

£250

It's not pure luck when the odds are 60% of it happening.

Box 22 with Kristi contains the £1,000

Noel says Jenny is saleswoman of the year. Jenny says she'd liked to have more of course, but she's enjoyed it all and she's pleased to get £2,500 out of that game.

Isn't this the first time we've had a 10p/1k final two?

Ultimately, Jenny used up all of her luck in the opening round, and from there it was consistent destruction. Still, she made the best of a bad job, and was lucky to get 2.5k out of it really. Usually the banker would give a derisory offer of 1k or something at that stage, and she would have crashed all the way to pocket change.

Car-related dreams eh? And no mention of Corinne? Well, let's see if Jenny can take the Banker on a joyride!

Aww push-button soft toys. I had a hamster that burst into a squeaking rendition of "Dancing Queen" once... no mention of her financial situation in the recap of the edit, but we do get a happy take on becoming a widow, which makes a change from the 'sob stories' so regular that we dismissed the real upsetting stories (I remember Mike taking umbrage to the 'sob story' quote on this forum). Also, a hint of what to do with an orange win: Florida's orange juice supply was threatened by cold weather between recording and airing of this episode...

An orange goes in round one, along with a mid-red and three blues, and you can't ask for a much better opening round. "Jenny says she's tempted to deal just to be remembered!" - and there's been a few she'd have had a rational case for taking, too. This isn't one of them, though.

Oh crumbs maybe it was. Still, the penny dropped, and Matt correctly points out this is still an average board.

Not now it's not. Still, if you're going to hit four Power 5 amounts in two rounds, you at least want the jackpot to be the other one, and it is. Worth chasing for now... blast. Now chasing is all she can do. Incidentally, unless she leaves £20k with either £5k or £10k, the first offer will be the highest. And the Banker is now predicting the crash. Talk about tension, £10k goes first... blue!

"People often play to the end when they have a tough game, and those are the people who leave with blues." That would be because expectations have not been adjusted as rapidly as the stakes, thus causing a loss-chasing effect (Post et al, 2008). Huddy downplays the £20k/blue final offer, and that seals the Deal. What price a £20k/blue finish and a hypo offer above £9,500, anyone?

Oh, thank goodness for that! Last box.

Incidentally, that means that if she had taken the first offer as she jokingly suggested, she'd have had an OPW. Incredibly, even the Banker recognises the peak of the game being pre-ADP: "The banker says congratulations, as sometimes it takes courage to accept a low offer when you've previously had higher offers." Quite.

Can't go wrong there...it was either a £2,500 deal at 5-box or keeping £20,000 to the next call and literally being forced to take a not-much-better offer!

So well done to Jenny!

It's an interesting observation from the Banker that, games where the opening offer is the highest, especially when there's a considerable margin between that offer and subsequent ones do seem to force players to the end, and I do wonder how much of that is pride, a reluctance to bail before they can at least match that opening offer. Everyone wants to get out at the peak of the game and it must take something to admit that the peak has passed you by without your even recoggnising it

Anyway Jenny had the most appalling luck, there was no respite and she was lucky that the Banker gave her a reasonable get-out offer at 5 box,

Not much to say about that game, apart from horrendous luck throughout, and in the end Jenny did well to get a consolation £2,500 out of it - I'm glad the banker didn't try to force her on with a derisory £1k which we've seen before in that scenario. Very unlucky to leave 4 of the bottom 5 at 6-box.

And yes, that is the first time we've seen 10p and £1,000 together in the final 2, which means just one finish remains - £250 and £250,000 (easy to remember!). I'd love to see any final 2 with the £250,000 in play right now - 75 shows now since it's been on the table!
