Banker's offer would've been:

£2,222

Noel opens Eric's box 10 and reveals £5,000

Box 19 with Jessica contains the £1

Eric says he was never destined to have a big money game

Alla t dadlau â a herwhela. 'r 'n bwysig beth fu erioed fethedig i maes acha 'r 'n fawr arian!

Great game!

(I can't argue with that game. The important thing was he never missed out on the big money!

'n fawr herwhela!)

And he got beat for a few hundreds at the end

This game never really got going, did it?

Best commentary interjections ever.

If only the game was that good. Still, first red win in three and we'll get better luck tomorrow surely.

A most enjoyable game. Brought a tear to my eye when Eric's wife
made a beeline to thank Noel.

Oedd £ 6,222 ychydig chwyddo yn y fod allan. £ 5,222 Byddai wedi bod yn y gwerth tebygol mewn chwarae go iawn ond ar ôl y 2 gemau olaf, ni ellir rhoi'r bai ar Eric ar gyfer delio

Apologies for any Welsh-speakers about the accuracy of Google's translation.

(£6,222 was a little inflated in the prove-out. £5,222 would have been the probable value in real play but after the last 2 games, can't blame Eric for dealing. )

What can I say? Taking out all of the top 8 except for 35k by 11-box is incredibly unlucky, it has to be said. Still, £3,222 is a solid sum of money, and he didn't miss out on much. The offers in this game were very generous though; £3,222 is the offer I'd expect on a one-box game with 35k at 5-box, not 8-box! And Noel was neutral for once. I think part of that may have stemmed from Endemol not wanting three blue wins in a row.

Still, let's hope tomorrow's player has better luck.

Well thankfully the entertainment and comedy value of that made up for the pretty unlucky game! And at least today it was from the player rather than one of the wingers who wouldn't shut up! Without Eric playing that would have been pretty boring actually! :)

Eric actually reminded me a lot of Walter, but thankfully got a decent get-out of a bad game whereas Walter just ploughed on to the end regardless. He still seemed happy with a low 4-figure sum, and even if he did get offered more at 5-box, and there was more at the table, he was never squandering anything huge unless the £35k remained to 2-box. And fitting he should win a comedy amount too!

My only worry is now Eric's gone from the wings, they'll put more attention on Tony......

Eric was a great player, a real personality injecting a lot of humour into the game but never overwehlming it.

In terms of game play though there's no denying that was very very unlucky, but to get £3,222 where the highest offer was barely twice that is a result in it's own sweet way. :smt023

An extremely unlucky game, but fortunately an entertaining contestant in the chair - the 'lecture' at the beginning had to be one of the best intros ever, and I get the feeling that this game took a long time to record as there was a lot of comedy with the bucket and Tony and Eric getting Noel's name wrong etc!

Anyway, it was a fun game to start the week off with, even though unfortunately not big money, but £3k-ish seemed a reasonable consolation at that stage given how the game had gone and what was remaining, so I don't blame Eric for dealing at all, especially after 2 blue wins.
