Noel asks why did he change his plan?! Sanjay tells people not to clap as that was terrible!

Banker phones and says £10k is still there.

Santa vs Scrooge 2009 Gameplay:

If a player gets to 5-box, they can open a mince pie, a carrot or a bottle of sherry. There's 1 Scrooge and 2 Santas. If they reveal SANTA, they get an offer after every box and win a holiday for 2. If they find SCROOGE, then the banker looks in their box, their is no offer after every box but a SWAP at 2-box is guaranteed.

Sanjay chooses SHERRY which contains SANTA :smt114 :D

The CARROTS contain SCROOGE

The MINCE PIES contain the other SANTA

Eh... not everybody buys their first lottery ticket at 16, ask KP for example.

Not trying to offend but someone must've told him about that hand rubbing = lucky, it gave me the impression he has done it to the extreme today.

Nice offer from the banker at 2-box with what was basically an all-or-nothing finish if you wanted to go for it.

I couldn't help but notice a slight bit of disappointment at the holiday destination he picked out as well, especially after seeing the likes of Cuba, Egypt and Dominican Republic picked out in recent games!

Well Santa v Scrooge ended with 7 OBW's (including 3 blue wins), 1 Technical Player Win and 1 Banker spanking. The games weren't really helped by the lack of big money being brought to the table though.

Bad luck to take out the top 3 in 4 boxes at 8 box but £10k was the kind of offer on a 2-box game that needed keeping both the top 2 in play to get anything more in regular play.

To be fair, some of the OBWs still had a feel-good factor (Harry's, Freddie's etc.) because the player won a decent amount that was only slightly less than what they could have won.

I have to say, I found this game kind of disappointing. It's not Sanjay's fault, but after such a great opening round, it was kind of lame to see the game slowly but surely collapse from a strong board, to decent, to mixed, to poor. None of the decisions he made were unjustifiable though, and I reckon I'd have done the same (though admittedly 10k would have been tempting). Still, £1,400 is a decent amount of money at the end of the day; I certainly wouldn't say no if someone offered that to me. :-)

I've said it before but i do think the all-blue opening round is something of a poisoned chalice, it's all but impossible to maintain the momentum. Sanjay really just peaked too early

The final offer was just about as generous as it could have been and I really don't blame him for taking it given the 50/50 chance of going away with 50p if he didn't

Just a bit of a slow collapse really, and the least interesting of all the Xmas games I feel. Unlike Gaz's game, I didn't think the 8-box offer was tempting enough to go with, and hitting Santa isn't all that useful when you've got virtually no board to play it with. £1,400 is still very much worth having though, and all males have won red money in the period which all the women have won blues!

Quite disappointed there wasn't one massive win in these games, there usually is (look at last year, and even in 2007 there was Patricia, and Orry's spectacular swap gone wrong) - but I don't think any players have squandered anything big by dealing too early, most deals have been too late and gambles not paid off. Nothing more than £10,000 has come to the table for over 2 weeks!

Indeed, one last game before the new year

And I pray it's an OPW, no matter what it is
