Santa vs Scrooge 2009 Gameplay:

If a player gets to 5-box, they can open a mince pie, a carrot or a bottle of sherry. There's 1 Scrooge and 2 Santas. If they reveal SANTA, they get an offer after every box and win a holiday for 2. If they find SCROOGE, then the banker looks in their box, their is no offer after every box but a SWAP at 2-box is guaranteed.

The banker phones and says this is an incredible board as it's all or nothing, and he says this is the biggest Santa vs Scrooge decision we've ever had.

Pommy chooses the MINCE PIES and it has SCROOGE :(

The SHERRY contains SANTA

The CARROTS contain the other SANTA

The banker will now get to look in Pommy's box. The snowman comes on set and removes the box to take to the banker! Noel says it's not over yet and the £250k hasn't come to the table for a very long time. The box is returned with the black seal.

The banker speaks to Pommy and pays her some compliments, and he said that Pommy has the £250k on the table. She says she's unsure whether to believe him. The banker phones back and says he's told her the absolute truth because he thinks she'll make a deal with him.

Banker's offer:

£15,000

The others tell Pommy that's a good offer, and she has 3 boxes to open before the next offer. Pommy says she has a feeling that the banker's telling the truth, and why shouldn't she win the £250k? The banker phones back and tells Pommy please don't no deal!

He raises the offer...

NEW OFFER

Banker's offer:

£20,000

Flo had in 19 days ago. I wouldn't call that 'a very long time'.

I'd have taken 15k on this board, and 20k is a no-brainer for me.

ZONK!!!
I called it! 86% of games that look bad really are! Statistics don't lie! Ha!
Another person lets greed overtake them, and gets lied to by the Banker in the process. Fail.
And the failure epidemic rages on.

I had to leave the room when she turned down that £20k. I just knew the banker was lying and she had a blue in the box. I thought the offer would be tiny if he'd seen the £250k and it wasn't.

Always seems the ones who really need the money end up with a blue. I guess she wanted to go for something massive but if I was on the dole, I'd have bitten the banker's hand off! Can't help thinking she was goaded into it by the banker though. :(

Scarily enough, the last woman to win a red was Monique!!
