Welcome to another week of shows you can start watching at 4:45 to find it's at five-box already.
This year's twist: 2:1 odds on 4- and 3-box offers, just to make even more sure people get that far. Remember, the Acceptable Deal Point (ADP) for these games is five-box, compared to the usual eight. Oh, and another twist, one which is very likely to be used. And sure enough, first box. And what a cracking round to follow up, an orange and three blues. Freddie gets... a trampoline. Now, how much would that be worth, a hundred quid? Also, what the hell, a generous opener? That won't last.
Especially not now. Noel still calls the board 'sensational' despite the top prize falling by 60%, to make sure he's thinking No Deal. It is, in fairness, super-stable. Was; £50,000 really hurts. Now the joke offers begin, so let's skip to five-box.
Oh hang on, "the banker says he thinks that maybe he should stop Harry getting to 5-box"? Erm, the Banker might think that, but the producer wants every game to get that far, and the two are one and the same. £9,500 is shockingly generous considering, but not enough. And incredibly, even eight-box is dealable! He doesn't take it... and promptly gets hammered with the £100k, only to respond with two blues and a Santa to... get the same offer? Crumbs. 80% of the mean with two blues left, I think I'd be gone even with one to open (with three, it's the easiest five-box Deal since Corinne's). He's going on, and is rewarded with, erm, 80% of the mean with one blue left. It would be irrational to take this after turning down the last one, he duly goes on... oh for pity's sake, do not make me a conspiracy theorist about this show again, I thought I'd given up on that years ago in favour of banging on about the promotion of gambling. Justice is served with the ending, and we find out that the suppliers are hidden in the credits. Interesting, implies that product placement rules are still being upheld strictly when I've definitely seen sponsored prizes on other shows for the last couple of years.
