Noel says that offer is a healthy valuation of her box. Pommy asks if she's feeling positive and she says she is. Israel asks if she'd be prepared to leave with a blue. The banker phones back and says the last 7 boxes on the table have been red....

Gillian says NO DEAL

That was a really depressing sort of game. It started well, started to deteriorate in the middle, and just as it looks like she might recover, the game collapses completely. And chalk up another penny winner. :(

The 1p's been won so many times now, it's lost its special status. To me, at least. :?

Well yes, unfortunately I was first-hand witness to a 1p game, but that was such an emotional rollercoaster in the studio, with a strong opening couple of rounds making it appear as if a big win was on the cards... then a run of dreadful boxes... then a recovery... and finally, er, the worst possible finish. There were good offers throughout which made it interesting, and the last round was looking to be really tense until she took out the 50k straight away... :(

Anyway, it was a really entertaining game at the studios, particularly the dancing sequence as Haz joined in as well (as he said he was a dancer of sorts), and he wasn't bad either! I also got cut out of a sequence where Gillian forgot some numbers with the system and had to refer to a piece of paper her relative (Maxine) had brought, so Noel bounded up the steps, and I promptly moved to let him sit next to the relative, but he couldn't make head or tail of what had been written down! (and neither could I frankly!) :P Agreed, it wasn't particularly fascinating or necessary to the edit, but it would've made for a nice photo opportunity... :(

I had to laugh at the fact that she said she'd have taken out the box on the table during the last round, given she'd have picked the first two anyway. Ouch.

That's the first time anyone's no-dealt on a 1p/10p finish, how reckless is that? :)

I thought she should deal the third offer even before I saw how the rest of it would pan out - with massive volatility she'd have to be very lucky to win much more without a biggie in her box! Even though it wasn't quite as generous as Dan Judge's third offer on a similar board, you knew the banker was going be generous with him for the rest of the game and I didn't think it here.

I didn't actually think the £12k at 5-box was that good though, I thought it would be back to the 15.

27 members of the 1p club is getting silly now. I don't think any other blue will even have a double-figure amount!

Well at least Gillian's philosophy of wanting to go to the end explained turning down one of the most geneous 11 box offers for a long while. Perhaps the only reason for going on was to expect the same level of generosity if the board kept strong. Unfortuantely, she hit 2 of the big reds and then turned down a half-decent offer at 5 box.

Unlucky.

Personally i think i would have cut me losses at five box there, but Gillian was more than justified in going on. Not just unlucky in bringing the penny to the table but to have the worst possible 2 box combo as well...
