"A bit of a Welsh accent" is fine - i.e. Rich today. Real hardcore Welsh speakers, who actually speak the language Welsh, have such a gutteral intonation that it sounds like they're trying to retch something up from their lower intestine. It's not the most romantic of accents.


Nothing wrong with the welsh accent at all I think you'll find! :)

Being a non-Welshman living in Wales, I find some of the more gruff accents very difficult to understand. Most accents, such as Rich's, are quite cool as it is not a task trying to work out what they are saying and the intonation on certain words is nice and endearing. Some accents that I have encountered, mainly from older people and from native Welsh speakers however, are really difficult to comprehend and don't sound particularly palatable. Really strong variants of most accents are the same, I've found, especially ones as gutteral as Welsh.

Ok Ok can we stop dissing the welsh accent here please? lol this is Rich's thread, and he rocks, and so does his accent because it's the same as mine! :D there are a lot of accents I don't particularly like, but i'm gonna keep quiet about it ;) :D
