I liked what Noel said at the end about respecting the money and how £3,000 is significant.

As long as 4 figure offers are good for the board like today then that's good but I didn't like the way yesterday how everyone was saying the 5K offer was better than it was.

Anyway the deal seemed more cautious than it was. I can't criticise it even if I would have liked a no deal.

Like others i thought that the last two spankings might have given the players a bit of momentum but you can't legislate for luck - and Nicholas had very little of that.

It would have taken a full blown wakeyist or zealous gambler to get more than £5,000 out of that game so in that respect Nicholas actually did pretty well, but what are the odds i wonder of two consecutive players having the 'perfect' final round.

The one day we're pleased the banker gives a respectable get-out of a bad game offer at 5-box, we didn't actually want him to! Still at least he didn't miss out on too much assuming no swap, and as he said it's miles better than most blues!

I thought that too! Still I suppose Nicholas may have gambled to the end after that and would've won £5,000 so was never going to get more than £3k anyway.

Oh, and I expect certain ex-members of this forum loved it when Nicholas said he was a "crazy gambler"... only to deal for £3,000 with the £5k and £20k still on the board. ;)

A strange game, I hadn't really learnt that much about Nicolas during his time on the wings, so I felt myself going "who?" when his name was called. Unfortunately, he couldn't continue the momentum of good luck from yesterday, and actually got it at the wrong time after he'd dealt! I can't really quibble with the £3k deal, the only chance of significantly more was to leave what he did, so a bit unlucky really. Not sure what I'd have done, but my first instinct was to deal.

However with the Trick or Treat week coming up, which is usually the bankers bogey week every year, I really hope the players can finally take him to the cleaners in Season 5

Well, let's look at the stats:
2006: £50 (One-off special)
2007: £139,116
2008: £61,750.50

Some big wins in those weeks which we all remember (notably Chris's £76k), but that only makes the average about £15k a show, which is actually a little below the overall average, so nothing for the banker to be unduly worried about...

I think he meant it in that the Banker has not had one Trick in 2 years of the Trick or Treat specials, it's always been Treat.

There's a shot of a figure in an armoured suit in the trailer for the Halloween shows. I wonder if this mysterious figure has anything to do with the "trick" twist?

Yes, I thought that!

Not especially a comment on today's game but unfortunately for them, the banker can generally see through the pseudo-gamblers, who bounce into the programme professing to be the biggest punters since the Cincinatti Kid only to shy away when a genuine risk is called for.

ok game, lacked the excitement and suspense of yesterdays game with little laura, but still, Nicholas seemed a nice guy, and at least he walked away with a red as opposed to a blue
