3 - Spike - £75,000

4 - Pauline - £1,000

NO, oh my word says Noel...

He says the last time we had a climax with 1p and £250k, the banker gave Alice the banker's gamble and she won the £250k... Noel wonders if the banker's gamble will be offered if Paul has the same finish!

Noel says he doesn't know what he wants to see now, as if this is £750, Paul may have the chance to win £250k!

16 -Judith - 1p

Big groans there!

Banker time with remaining £750 and £250,000

Oh dear! Here's hoping a banker's gamble. If so, deal.

No way says the banker... no gamble here as the £750 doesn't interest him...

Banker's offer would've been:

£55,000

Yes, it would be a bit outrageous if it was not the 1p.

banker says the Gamble would've been offered if the finish had been 1p vs £250k...

The SWAP is guaranteed with the £250k in the final 2...

Noel asks SWAP or NO SWAP

Paul says NO SWAP

Paul's box 14 has £250,000 :(

Noel asks whether Paul would've taken the banker's gamble had it been offered, and he says YES, he would've done!!

Good game that - I was worried that the terrible 11 box offer would lead to later poor offers but it was good the 8 box offer was above 20K and I predicted the doubling guarantee.

Endemol better be *beep* careful though with the 1p vs 250K undeal though - it might not be long before contestants deal with the expectation of this and that would be a farce.

Cue loads of "family shouldn't be allowed in the dream factory" posts today. At least the offer of £44k at 8 box was on just less than a 18% chance which is a lot higher than we usually get.

Obviously, this show was filmed after Alice's game was broadcast.

That was almost an action replay of Pip's game to be honest, even the 8-box board mirrored it! (The only difference was no hypo swap).

I do think Paul would have gone on from where he dealt without the wife there, but I think £33k would have been a deal for most so I don't feel too bad about the end result, except I wish he'd avoided the penny instead of the £750. If that had have happened his wife would probably have had a stroke! :)

Paul said he would seize the day and in the end he didn't. £22,000 is a nice sum of money for him to take home but knowing that he could have won the £250,000 must sicken him. Bad luck Paul.

Actually it was recorded on Tuesday 3 March, while Alice was still on the wings in TV time. You could tell that people in the audience of Paul's game were clearly surprised when Noel mentioned the circumstances of Alice's win.

Oh dear what a disaster. It is beyond me why someone who has managed to get through all the auditions etc, then gets on the show, doesnt play the game for himself. I got the feeling that once his wife joined him at the table, he would take the first decent offer.

£22,000 is a decent sum of money but where had courage gone.

Fortune favours the brave.

:ponder:

Totally agree. To be totally honest on a lot of occasions I've thought on certain boards if there are potential final pairs I'd take the banker's gamble on, I'd deal where I wouldn't have in 2006 or 2007 before BG had been introduced!

That's very odd then. You would have thought the producers would have mentioned to Noel when Alice's game was going to be shown - especially given that he didn't mention Alice's name the other day when the same situation occured.

I'm mystified that Noel didn't mention Alice in Christopher's game given that then! I take it Alice was on the wings in TV time when Christopher's game was filmed too?

Amazed that Alice's game didn't get leaked in the 9 days between Paul's game being filmed and Alice's broacast too!
