At 8-box I didn't know whether he deal or no deal really but at least he is happy with the money and enjoys some more London marathon races. I did think that the £26,000 prove-out offer was spot on. I wonder if the banker would have tried to lure him on if he was live at 5-box.

£26,000 was the only proveout option there, not only its ubiquity and being right for the board but for the marathon runner! To be honest I think if I'd worked out the inevitability of £26k on a two-biggie final five with £100k (albeit the one he had was the best of those he could have had) I'd have advised a No Deal, but the crash was always possible, and once again it came in the second proveout round - giving something for everyone, a good player win with just about enough of a 'what if' to keep the moderate Wakeyists content.
