I really liked the cool, calm way he approached that - especially the way he was totally unmoved by the increased 8-box offer, which allowed him to get an excellent offer at 5-box, I expected £15k there. He probably would have really had the banker worried had he gone for it from there, but I think offering the banker's gamble there was a bit silly - anyone who would be inclinded to gamble £20k on that finish would still have been in live play at that point! It reminded me of all the times it was used after a £15k-ish deal on a £35k/blue finish all those times last year!

Plus he was also really happy with what he won and even Noel seemed to be appreciative of the fact that it would have needed a massive risk to be taken to win more than what he did.

Well done Karl! :)

He was a great player and glad that at the very least help his dreams come true.
For most players at 5-box with the £50,000 and £100,000 still there I would expect about £15,000 but in this I expected £17,500 but not £20,000 although he has been a little bit more generous before. Jason from April 09 was offered £20,000 but he had the £50,000 and £75,000 instead.
I thought that the banker's gamble was silly as the deal was only £5,025 below the average.
It would be more sensible to offer it about half the average after the deal or just below.

A sensible guy who didn't let a daft banker's gamble affect him. If the banker had said the offer would have been £20k on those last 2, most of us would have been saying that would have been an inflated offer. I was expecting around £25k for the £100k/blue finish.
