£17,000 is fair...borderline dealable...it's now all about whether or not he's prepared to get to the end with the biggie still in the game, or not...

Like Friday, pitched in a way that only £250,000 in play will increase at the final two. Once again, The Banker is taking the target into serious consideration, anybody else and it would've been £20,000.

Rich says it's a very good offer. Kris says he thinks Rich may be getting blinkered by the £250k still on the board...and he asks if Rich would be happy with winning a blue or £10k, if the £250k goes...

Rich says DEAL

That will slightly push me to go on, but then again what's to bet that the biggie will gone in the next round?

And it looks like he's dealt, well here's hoping...

Exactly, Travis - here's hoping then that our resident KP Apprentice has called it wrong by being forced to play on :P

Rich reveals that his target was actually £15k and not £20k as he suggested earlier...

4 - Cath - £250,000

6 - Carol - £10

3 - Dave - £50

Banker time with 50p and £10,000 remaining.

Without looking at the stats, I'm presuming that this week has paid out more money than any others save for the two with jackpot wins!

This is great, another OPW, and unlike most I thought £17k was an excellent offer at 5-box. Have to admit I was slightly tempted by the £15k at 11-box with quite a hole in the reds and was also fearing he'd deal the £8k at 8-box and risk going a grand worse than Tolleck but luckily not.

Really decent guy as well. Enjoy the money!

He was indeed a gentle giant. I honestly thought that the £17,000 he was going to deal it as there was a 60% chance of taking out the £250,000 but it you look at it in terms of opening one at a box without the offers in the middle it seems that there is only a small risk of taking out the big one. Firstly a 1 in 5 risk, then 1 in 4 and then a 1 in 3 risk.
At least his Dad can go to Canada.
Clearly £17,000 meant a lot to him and I was surprised that his target was £15,000 I thought it was about £18,000.

:smt023 An enjoyable game and he was indeed a gentle giant. I was urging him to deal when he did.

Looking at the stats. It's only the 4th highest none £250k win week.

Top is the 1st birthday week with the extra £70k win show boosting the toal.
Second is the week of Santa or Scrooge 2008 where we had £75k and £100k box wins.
Third is the week of Bunney's game in Jan 2007 (despite Dennis's 50p win)

Going back to today's game, I'm pretty sure Rich's decision to no deal at 11 box wasn't influence by Noel's usual "11 box deal = bad", statistically inaccurate propaganda.

I don't think his revealing of his target did him too much damage as I can't see the banker going much over £20k on the 5 box anyway.

Very satisfying end to the week.

Rich's exit was perfectly timed making for the perfect game.

Considering the bad luck he was having he did very well to hold his nerve as long as he did and the result was just reward.
