That is perfection says Noel

Banker's offer would've been:

16p

Funny to see Paula about to run up to congratulate Trudi too soon there.

It reminds me of one of the games I was there for. Lisa nudged me as she thought it was time for us to go and hug the player, but it was too early as the final box hadn't been opened! Noel gave us a death-glare and we quickly got back to our positions. Luckily the camera didn't seem to pick it up though. :laughing

Thank goodness he doubled it. £8,000 would've been a horrible offer for the board. In fact would that have been the lowest ever (non-joke) offer to be made on a board which still had the £250k?

The lowest 5-box offer with the £250k still on the board was £9500, received by Alan (game 257) on 22-9-2006. Although that was post-Deal. The lowest in-play offer is still the £9900 that 1p Trevor (game 103) received on 1-3-2006.

(I'm not counting the £9000-with-a-two-thirds-chance-of-it-increasing-to-£18,000 that Andy (game 876) received on the third birthday show on 7-11-2008.)

I trust that answers your question, H.

Anybody else noticed that the £250k has been kept until 5-box for four games in succession now?

Thanks, it certainly does answer my question! So Trudi's original offer would've been the lowest in that type of scenario then. Actually didn't Tolleck receive an offer of £9,000 in-play which he dealt? I know it was at 8-box rather than 5-box but it was still "in-play".

It wasn't long ago that Noel was saying how the £250k kept going early on in the game. Then he had an obsession with the £35k & £50k going together in the first round. And 10p has been on the table twice in a row with Will and Trudi... there are certainly odd things happening in the dream factory at the moment.

Well done to Trudi though, the money clearly meant a lot to her and it was great that she got a decent sum of money out of a game where the banker was being a mean old tight-arse.

Well it was a great proveout after dealing at £16,000, but still once again it's a TPW

Well, if you're including offers at earlier stages then I'm sure there have been hundreds of them that were lower.

Very similar boards at the moment. Having the highest numbers and slowly taking the smallest away. Today she had the block of 5 and took them in order. Or is it just me?

If Trudi had dealt that third offer, what's the odds that £50k hit in the next round would've been seen as a lot less significant and the offer would've gone up  GRRRR...

That aside, Trudi played well today, I'd probably have taken the same offer she did.

Similar boards at the moment, but the advice I hinted at yesterday to not give any too much information about how tricky you find a decision over a particular sum of money proved to be the key factor in her game. Had she been more guarded, she might have been offered upwards of £30k at 8-box - I was at least expecting the banker's old faithful £26,000, which surely she would've taken.

The banker got an all too clear view of her utility curve, much as he did yesterday with Will. When the viewer almost certainly knows which sum of money a player will deal at on a given board, you can bet the banker does.

However, £16,000 was a decent result, especially considering the catastrophic finish that would've followed had she gone on.

Thank goodness the banker doubled that 5-box offer (well done Paula!), or Trudi would have suffered one of the most horrible crashes ever that would get everyone dealing poor offers at 8-b-x or 11-box again on great boards last summer! And also one that wouldn't have been, as KP calls it, "self-inflicted" when it was perfectly reasonable to have gone on! I think if Trudi had no-dealt at 5-box whatever the offer, then Paula would have topped herself if she had the £250k and ruined the game! And another quite tense game despite the contesatnt not going all the way or even to 2-box but good games shouldn't be just about that! :)

As others have said, we seem to be getting a run of similar games where the big money is staying in play late without being on the table. £70k winnings in 4 days where 3 of the box amounts have totalled 21p isn't bad.

As soon as the 2nd offer was revealed at £14k, it was obvious the banker had read Trudi as someone who he didn't need to make big offers for.

I know the last 2 days weren't really gambling boards with no backup for the £250k but it would be nice to see someone try and get a guarantee from the banker if the £250k stayed to 2 box - although I'm guessing Trudi's 2 box offer wouldn't have been that great today had she kept the £250k in play.

Best board we've seen in a while it seems, this week is just getting better and better.

Trudi should have been more guarded, but that's easily said. If it's in her nature to think things through out loud like that then it's a hard habit to break. Certainly she didn't do herself any favours where the offers were concerned

Can't blame her for dealing at 5 box, a one box game with no backup is always risky and in this case it proved the prudent thing to do. Good result, even if wasn't the outright spanking the Banker deserved.

That I have noticed as well, I've also noticed that we haven't been getting Banker spankings recently :?

A great result. Just as well the offer was doubled or else Trudi would have gone on
with the 1K and 3K back up!
