Well, that was certainly great!

I would call that a good win but not quite a spanking

I'd call it a spanking, KB - no it wasn't an OPW but he still took massive advantage of the Banker's generosity...and more importantly he only had 50p all along!

EDIT: And United equalise to suddenly dampen my mood!

You better believe it :D ! It's the amount I'd most like to win if I went on the show.

And yes, I agree, this game was definitely a Banker spank ing.

I thought £30,000 was the amount you'd most like to win?

Maybe he's lowered his expectations since the 1,000th show? ;)

Can I just say the highlight of the day was seeing Mad Mark's new signature picture?

I have two target amounts, Boss. Both are goodly sums.

And no, KB, I've not lowered my expectations at all.

Oh, and I'm glad you like my signature banner, KP :D ! It's basically designed to say all the things I'd like to say without saying them, if any of that makes sense ;) .

Really didn't expect Jason today but definitely enjoyed that one - I was thinking he should have dealt the £28,500 but in all truth the board was still great at that point, I was just really surprised it was more than the £26k I was 99% sure the offer would be!

But he definitely played it well, I expected a much bigger drop after the awful 5th round, and he still went away with only a small proportion lost, but with the chance of £250,000 in the box out of the window!

I too was fully expecting banker's gamble on any red/blue finish, which I guess he'd probably risk if it was £75k there but not the £50k.

Actually it's been a great week with the possible exception of Margaret whose game I didn't see - even Dirk winning 1p was highly entertaining, and all the winnings of the week have been box amounts, despite three of them being deals! :)

Great game, the 8 box offer was too low and I didn't expect 5 box to be higher than 18K. I was surprised at the generosity. I initially expected it to be low i.e. 10-15K

Was a really great game to watch. Personally, the game deserved to have been on Friday and Margaret's game to be put on a Sunday, this was better by a long shot. Well done Jason!

Enter, from the depths of history, John G being offered £25,000 on this board (with £1,000 instead of a blue, mind).

He turned it down and instigated one of my favourite crashes to a blue in DoND history to this day.

The Banker clearly reckons he's going to blindly chase the money. He'd be mad to do so with this offer.

John G immediately sprang to mind when Noel said he couldn't remember the banker being so generous with a similar board.
Nevertheless, £20,000 was generous enough to deal and its arguable that his offer would only have increased with the
10% chance 50K/75K dream finish.

To no deal at £28,500 was justifiable with the board that Jason had, and if he'd left the £250,000 the offer
would most likely have increased.

Well done Jason on winning £20,000

Well played by both sides. Jason expressed early on that he was prepared to go to the end (and even prepared to 'go for it' on a blue/£250k finish apparently), and that attracted some high offers, although often the board warranted them.

The board was consistently strong up to 8-box, and was probably worth about £30k at that point, so £28,500 was a respectable offer, but there was still great potential left in the board, so I don't blame him for turning it down. The banker then showed great respect for him by giving him a generous 5-box offer.

It makes for a much more interesting game when the banker doesn't throw in a joke offer after a bad round when the board is still relatively strong. The player has a dilemma over whether to accept the small(ish) loss from their peak offer or chase their losses, and you could see, despite the generosity of the offer, that Jason was agonising over the decision, which is what the format is all about.

Whether Jason would have actually gambled on a £250k finish we'll never know but his assertion that he would got him generous offers and he took the one that had the most risk and least reward attached to it.

Had taped Friday's game but didn't see it until tonight along with Today's, so it was a double bill for me. :-D

Great game for the big man, he was great on the wings in the corner, his style whilst opening the boxes i found quite amusing.

He played it well. Well Done Jason!

Another big gambler with 50p in his box - luckily that wasn't all he won this time! Well done Jason :smt023

That's more like it, far better than Friday's show (which was the first one that I didn't like as such for a very long time..).

A strong board allowed him to get very decent offers in the early stages, which were reasonable no deals. Even when the board collapsed slightly, a £20,000 offer was brilliant for that board and it was good to see him take it.

So it's been quite a week, mainly very good.
