Hopefully he will be brave and go on. We need another 250k winner.

Noel says that is a clever offer, and Tony says that he is a clever man. Trev points out that is a massive sum of money, and if he goes on and takes out certain sums he will be forced to play to the end.

Tony says

NO DEAL

I'd probably Deal this, but I might ask for a guarantee on £250k/blue.

30% chance of a likely Banker's Gamble (on £250k/blue or £35k/£50k) means a Deal isn't the end of the story here. He's chasing the money, and he's not stupid to do so, and this is probably as good a time as any for a game like this.

And the biggie is revealed, he should've dealt but there's still a chance of him winning £50,000

This is quite a climax now says Noel... The Banker says that Tony was very brave to turn down the £40,000

Banker's offer:

£16,000

That's a get-out right there and no mistake. Equivalent generosity to £80k on blue/£250k! And he goes on... not quite a pure Wakeyist (he did consider Dealing) but near enough...

Winston says that is a very clever offer, as if the offer was any lower Tony is brave enough to play on, but that is pitched just where it makes it a tough choice.

Tony says

NO DEAL

Noel opens box 13 and reveals 50p :(

That's a shocker says Tony as the studio falls totally quiet.

Box 12 with Barbara contains the £50,000

Nobody has ever turned down more money and gone away with less than £1,000 (wording deliberate to account for Orry, there).

Should I feel sorry for him? Not as much as I feel sorry for the other contestants. It's not their fault they're going to be playing against such a smug Banker. He knew (I fervently hope) the risks, and he faced them head-on and they smashed him back.

I wish he had the £50,000 really, but I just knew he would have 50p.

Oh well, he can by a pick and mix with that! ;)

I believe this will now trigger the rebirth of "The Cautious Era", I hope I'm wrong on Sunday's (tomorrow's) game... :eyes:

£16,000 was a second chance to leave with something. I was suspecting the offer to be around £10-£12K at the final two, unless The Banker wants him to go. It was clear that rejecting £40K he was chasing the glory that is the big money. I must admit we haven't seen a person who would gamble these type of amounts on the three box format to win literally nothing in a long time.
