Should I feel sorry for him? Not as much as I feel sorry for the other contestants. It's not their fault they're going to be playing against such a smug Banker. He knew (I fervently hope) the risks, and he faced them head-on and they smashed him back.

I wish he had the £50,000 really, but I just knew he would have 50p.

I believe this will now trigger the rebirth of "The Cautious Era", I hope I'm wrong on Sunday's (tomorrow's) game...

£16,000 was a second chance to leave with something. I was suspecting the offer to be around £10-£12K at the final two, unless The Banker wants him to go. It was clear that rejecting £40K he was chasing the glory that is the big money. I must admit we haven't seen a person who would gamble these type of amounts on the three box format to win literally nothing in a long time.
