Looking at the Professional Squash Association web site - seems as though the top competitions offer top prizes around $100,000 - the biggest UK tournament has a $30,000 top prize (which at the time of taping would equate to roughly the £16,500 mentioned if memory serves). Eddie seems to be in the smaller tournaments offering hundreds rather than thousands of pounds, however.

£16,500 now. It's too easy to call.

Eddie goes to Debbie, who thinks that he has another round in his game... Andy tells Eddie that if he gets an all blue round now he will get a fantastic offer, but the Banker calls and says that the chances of that happening are 1 in 56...

Eddie says

NO DEAL

You would, Mark Wakefield. :D

I'd probably play on myself. It is indeed a 1 in 56 chance of an all-blue here, but what's most important is keeping £75k and £100k to the next phone call (a little over 35%). That will guarantee a notable improvement if even one other red stays with it.

I had a feeling he would stick or just lower the offer a bit.

NOW we'll get £16,500 when a stick is indicated, with the aim of inducing a Deal.

Nope, Travis was right. It's the biggest decision of the game so far, all offers since the second have been about four grand short of the mark, this is bang on.

I'd be really unsure at £20,000, but at £16,000 I'm probably going on.

It'd need to be a little higher for me to deal.

Eddie goes to Trev, but tells him not to insult the Banker  Trev says that it is a fantastic offer, and to go carefully...

Eddie says

DEAL

I think - reluctantly - I'm gone, with the 60% chance of all-or-peanuts. Blue/£75k will be a stick and a thoroughly reluctant Deal, blue/anything else and the offer will be £NO_DEAL and that makes it a 30% chance of disaster, akin to having three blues and two reds and not the reverse.

Neither decision is stupid, and in my opinion this was the right decision for someone with such an insecure source of income.
