Incredible prediction from the Banker!

He is absolutely loving this, and we hear him singing on the phone! :( He's also thanking Ali as being called worse than Scrooge is the biggest compliment ever!

Banker's offer:

£1,000

I'm very confident that the folks opening the boxes today couldn't care less if he only won £500 and other goodies. Shame you don't respect this wonderful programme/production.Banker's offer would've been:

John wins £500 from box 4.

Monica completes the game with the £50 in box 16...

John says although the game has been poor, he's really enjoyed himself.

Noel gives John some Christmas presents, including a big dinner at Plymouth Albion (Argyle? :P), which also includes meeting some of the team too! As well as gifts being given to his two young foster children, a holiday in a teepee in Cornwall with a hire car too is also given to John! :D

His two young foster children, Leroy and Joshua, provide John with his Christmas Stars trophy. :D

John thanks his son for nominating him, and then thanks us all for watching, and wishes us a Merry Christmas! :D

You know you have a problem on your hands when the US version outdoes two UK episodes. That, like, never happens. I have plenty of respect for the show - when people do well, that is.

Yet another really bad game, though unlike yesterday there was a simple get-out clause with that very generous offer of £18,500! He thought there was more in the game, and crashed completely for it. Unfortunate, but I would never call that an embarrassment in front of family and friends.

I have to admit, Mark your recent comments have really upset me, especially at Christmas where you are branding unfortunate people as embarrassing their friends and families just by having a bit of bad luck.

And last I checked, the main US show has been axed, yes?

To me, that indicates you're not a fan to the show over here, as stated, it's based on the contestants personalities and not how much they win. Also the UK production has won many awards throughout the years and even one of the biggest awards, Rose D'or. Compared to the awards the NBC production has received which I think they've only won one.

Yes Davey, NBC will have a scheduling hole to fill in the new year.

It's as if the Christmas Stars have had more difficult decisions in 3 shows than most of the regular contestants saw in 3 months!

Technically yes, but two episodes remain.

As for the results for the past two games, I wish more money had been won. I think these people are very deserving as much as all of you do because of all the nice things they do. Alas, things didn't seem to work out in the end. But hey, if the players are happy, I guess it's all right. They won some other useful prizes too, so I guess that's good. At least you can do something with £500. Another thing - they were specially nominated to play. Not everyone gets that chance. Guess I need to rethink my words a bit. In the end, I just want the best for everyone.

Despite the poor outcome that was actaully Ok viewing, John was a nice upbeat fellow who was happy to have given the big money a go even though it didn;t pay off - the game's big decision was the £18,500 and there was no tension in Twiggy's (?) box opening becuase you just knew what it was going to be or the banker ringing up would have been edited out. The 5-box and 2-box offers were good too but once it was a trainwreck, then all the goodies at the end comes to more than the vlaue of the offers anyway. I'd have dealt at £18,500 but I have seen more riskier no-deals than that in my time, albeit not many recently. :)

And I think Mad Mark is actually a basicasic in reverse with some of the things he says - basic always said early deals with big money missed out on shouldn't be aired...in all truth I'd rather see that than blues, but (if as today) the players gambles and wins a blue but they're still upbeat about it and not moaning about it then I'm OK with it even if I don't personally agree with their decisions. The only ones who embarass themselves are idiots like 1p Matty who look as l=if someone's died when they win a blue and John was the polar opposite of that.

At least £500 is actually a useful sum of cash - if someone offered Mad Mark $1,000 to take away I'm sure he'd be very happy! :)

I agree James; it was reminiscent of Jas' game back in September; the Banker predicted the £250,000 would go in the next box before 5-box, we had extra beats in the tension music, and we just all knew what was coming! Same as today!

Your typical trainwreck there, nothing special and my word of warning to Mad Mark - Reality is that not everyone manages to win big, you have to accept that - and not every blue game has to be so sombrely and sadly treated like that. £500 is a lot of money. If I'm very honest here Mark, and I think I'd be talking for a few others here aswell - if anything, it's not the games or (in my case) reading the commentaries of the games that get me down, it's you.

Welldone John on £500, spend it well. And, though I know Mark will kill me dead for saying this, it is almost enjoyable to watch this type of a total, simple trainwreck, like we used to have, unfold like that. Not enjoyable, but nearly entertaining.

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

Nah, I won't kill you for that, Dan. You can like what you want. If you enjoyed that, then I'm happy for you. £500 is good money, and I think that's worth around double here in Canada. I wouldn't mind having an extra grand in my bank account right now. Plus, the prizes he got were useful too. I'd rather have a £500 trainwreck than a pocket change one.
