I'd expect more from members of this forum that to post opinions on Wikipedia, which I've now corrected.

Unfortunate that for the 2nd Friday running the biggie came to the table but at 8 box, the deal was in no way a terrible one. In fact the last 3 offers were all definately worth considering.

I actually think it was done by someone who was in the audience for that game...especially seeing as there was no way that could have been made within seconds of it being shown on the telly.

I knew it was coming, just not the date and player. And so on Friday 14th November, the £9000 sale of a £250,000 was shown.

It wasn't the worst deal ever though I dont think (obviously banker victory wise it was) as the board easily could have shifted the other way.

Tolleck was a nice guy and to hear he has made the most of life since his accident was inspiring.

Sorry, I wasn't accusing you of editing the article. If you look at the history, the name of one of the editors seems very familar though.

I hate to disagree with everyone but even though the deal was the worst % wise in UK DOND history, it's very easy to say that with hindsight.

At 8 box the facts were:

There was a 37.5% chance of taking out the £250k in the next round, which would have meant a joke offer at 5 box (assuming the £35K wasn't taken out in the same round).
There was a 64.3% chance of at least one of the significant 2 amounts being taken out and even if the final 5 had been £250k/peanuts, would the offer have been a lot more than £9k?

Well an interesting game, or result at least. The £9,000 offer was actually better than I expected from the Banker considering his previous offer and with the amount of time that was spent on Tolleck considering £9,000 it seemed likely that a Deal was approaching and so it wasn't much of a shock when he took it. Though as the prove-out, well proved, it wasn't a wise deal. The £250,000 does seem to be quite frequent so far this month.

No doubt the Banker's cracking open the Claret tonight to celebrate his biggest victory ever whilst adding Tolleck's name to the Hall of Fame.

Plus what a random moment with that woman coughing, but it made for a fun comedy moment with Noel & the Banker.

Poor old Tolleck.

In all truth I'm not nearly as horrifed with that deal as some people seem to be, and that deal in hindsight was nowhere near as bad as some that were done recently (Martin, David, Rita, Lee, Chris among others, heck even Constance!!). Any 8-box board with only two significant values left is always a tricky situation, though I don't think going on and taking out the 35k but leaving the 250k should have harmed the offer. It was definitely worthy of consideration though.

Shame becuase he seemed a genuine nice bloke, and at least he didn't look TOO disappointed after the proveout (contrast with Martin for example, who looked as though the world had ended!). And I think all but the biggest risk-takers would have been out at 5-box anyway, so it would have taken a crazy Wakeyist to have won it, unlike some games recently (yes, guess who, Martin again!!) :)

Given the volatility there was some sort of a case to be made for virtually any offer. Poor, but as Noel rubbed it in in fine style I won't comment further.

Dissapointed for Tolleck, he seemed like a nice bloke and he had an interesting life story.

I can see the argument for going when he did given the state of the board, and i really wish his decision had been vindicated,- for the record i would have persevered for at least one more round but I would have dealt either at the next offer or the final one.

Still a memorable game if only for that poor pilgrim who will now forever be mocked by her friends for coughing on a TV gameshow
