Comments like that will get you in trouble! However, I'm bound to say it was, once again, a very, very poor deal. Three power five amounts and another five figure back-up made it well worth carrying on.

7 - Betty - £35,000 completes the game.

Noel says this would be a much better world if everyone cared for their kids in the same way Martin cares for his...

Noel says what he won sounds modest in terms of what he could've had, but it'll make a difference to his family, and Noel's pleased about that.

You just had to get £250,000 - at least £51,102... that was the first decision in the game to make. I wonder what basicasic would say then...

My favorite box 11 holds £250,000 again.

I hope we are not going to go down the cautious deal route yet again, as if it wasn't bad enough last time :(

There was at least another round in that game and the banker has absolutely squashed him in the process

November 5 with the black boxes has been famous for bringing high sums of money to the table...

2006 - Kelly (Box 11!) with the £100,000.
2007 - Charly (Box 12) with the £20,000.
and today - Martin with Box 11 again, but with the £250,000!

What a greedy man, and he got what he deserved. Noel said all that needed to be said; rubbing it in, and then the respect bit, which I agreed with both.

What the heck was he smoking when he dealt? I think anyone would have got to 250K or at least 102k today he really was in my view a greedy man a total mismatch of player with game.
At the point he dealt I would have needed a offer of £35,000 up to get me really tempted.

To quote Marks box = Banana Sandwich!!

In terms of how much the money means to him, and how gutted he was to have found out that both his kids had set him up for a jackpot win, I have sympathy for him by the bucketful.

But the offers weren't exactly brilliant, and I think many people would have at least gone on and dealt at the £51,102. Gah! Hopefully this isn't just a blip in terms of big money coming to the table, AND also that someone won't squander it either.

I dont think he was greedy as such... all he wanted was to make sure he had some money for his kids for their futures. The game could have gone either way...

greedy: adj.
Excessively desirous of acquiring or possessing, especially wishing to possess more than what one needs or deserves.

(from http://www.answers.com/greedy)

So, how does taking the £16,102 offer -- on a board that was probably worth a bit more than that -- demonstrate that Martin wished to possess more than he needed or deserved?

You could argue, I suppose, he was excessively desirous of acquiring £16k and allowed himself to be blinded to the potential for more. However, I think the whole game is a trade off between greed and fear (not unlike the stockmarket!) and it was fear of losing rather than greed for more that made for a bad decision.

Box 11 has now brought the 250k to the table more times than any other box! Anna, Chris S, Nicola and now Martin all brought it in 11.
