Andrea says she could start her son's treatment with that sum of money, but she'd soon be back with nothing, and she starts crying again. The others advise her to play on, and Noel says this is so personalised that Andrea's decision is a very personal one for her. She says she'd be distraught if she deals and has £35k in her box, and that she could get £1,700 quite easily...

She says NO DEAL

I have sympathy, of course, and no-one needs a sick child... but you are on there to play for money.. so don't give the banker ammo to throw at you. Just play the game and know that what will be will be.

Banker says he knows it's difficult to stop Andrea winning £35k if she has it in her box. The banker goes back to what Andrea said about how £3,000 would help...

Banker's offer:

£3,000

Noel says it's a good offer and the others advise her that if the £35k goes then the offers go down a lot too. She also says she could buy her daughter a 2nd hand bike with the £3k. She says she can't go away with nothing...

Andrea says that will help to change their lives. Banker phones and says he's delighted by the deal and will laugh his head off when £35k is in her box, and she says she won't care!!

8 - Terry - £35,000 :D

Noel says this would have created an emotional mess if we'd been in live play and Andrea reveals her target was between £3k and £17k.

19 - Geraint - £3,000

21 - Jen - £250

Banker time with £5 and £750 remaining...

How coincidental, box 14 had £5 on the table.

7 - Andy - £750

The banker's keeping the chocolate, but he's going to buy it from her for £300 so she can buy her daughter a bike.

I can see Andrea's point as there are many young people under 20 who do suffer from ADHD/learning difficulties and life can be difficult. I have seen quite a few cases in last few years.

Not a great show today overall really. I can see why Andrea was getting upset and it may have been different had she had a strong board (although in that case the banker probably would've made a less-than-generous offer that would've been dealt, potentially resulting in high proveout offers). I always think it's dangerous when people go on the show to get money for something so personal like that, as it can be painful to watch if it all goes wrong, which it almost did today.

Luckily though we were spared of a blue win and what could've been an even more painful show. Although had Andrea won a blue, I strongly suspect, based on recent form, that the banker would've "bought" the chocolate from her for £3,000...

I really didn't want her to crash, I was glad she dealt, and that's terrible what her son has (or had?) to go through. Well done Andrea! :)

And you're now all wondering; is this me?

Sorry to be a Scrooge but I hate those Banker handouts. What happened to the mean Banker that did and said whatever he wanted?

'Pushover' isn't the right word but it's the first word that comes to mind.

It made me laugh when Noel said "we won't be getting any charity out of him [the banker]" when he's given out handouts in about 15 - 20 games in the past few months (I've lost count actually!).

Also Noel seemed to be a bit odd over the £500 offer when he said he'd normally get the player to think about it and caution them etc about that offer. Is this the same Noel who not so long ago was making players feel guilty who'd dealt at £50,000 (i.e. Patrick, March 2007)?
