Ooh, Noel had a bit of a go at him there when he said he didn't play the call with the banker very well. :?

Noel goes for a sweep of the wings, and there are mixed reactions.

The Banker calls back to try and help, and tells Lee that if he takes out all 3 blues the next offer will be £34,000.

Lee gets more advice from the wings, and Noel points out Peter's game yesterday where he nearly had massive regret at the end for dealing. The Banker calls back yet again and asks Lee if would help if the offer was £6,500. Lee says that would make the decision harder, so the Banker says it stays at £4,000 then!

Lee says

DEAL

Bankers gamble if the next box is a blue?

Irrelevant now though.

Disaster averted. That would have been painful if he'd gone on.

The Banker reveals that he would have never given Lee the £6,500 if he said it would have helped the decision!

Banker's offer would've been:

99p

Odd that there was no plug for the Halloween shows next week today.

Luckily, we had a player whose financial situaition averted him from the trainwreck that the vast majority of players would have had today.

That has to be the contender for worst-deal ever - well worst deal ever that turned out to be right anyway. Fancy going on about debts at the start of the show - the banker can keep the offers low as he knows he won;t risk a few thousand with 3 blues still there. Apart from that it was quite a decent show with plenty of comedy!

I think I'd be approaching this game with just hoping I keep some big money on the wings and swap for it.......

I think the fact his girlfriend missed his show meant Lee was a bit flustered at the start and seemed a bit overwhelmed and possibly a bit nervous too. The game's terrible start meant he was obviously disappointed and the others seemed a bit down about it too - even the banker picked up on how downbeat they all seemed to be!

However things picked up after the 2nd break as Lee's game improved, and he seemed to be less nervous and was more confident, and there were some more comedy moments including Chris' box opening. The deal was weak but £4,000 for someone with debts would be hard to turn down, even with the potential of a lot more on the board.

As it happened, the all-blue finish in proveout meant that Lee didn't have to suffer having a blue win, and it gave an overall feel-good ending to a show which looked as though it was heading to a blue win from the very start.

Oh and Lee sounded as though he had a sore throat... due to events at the hotel I wonder? ;) Nice bloke, and a good show overall to finish the week on (even if I thought it got off to a bit of a shaky start).

We were totally shocked that it was Lee's turn totally unexpected and as Lee said his girlfriend had a flight booked for the next day. We had a very late night the night before in the pub next to the hotel

Great game today!

I felt kind of sorry for Lee when he said he didnt have anybody in the audience cause i guess its kinda nice knowing you can turn to somebody for the support and for advice in the game!

Great guy and really glad he got £4k out of a really bad game!

Did you expect Lee to do an above-average run of shows then? He did 19, which is within the "average" range when you consider most players do between 18 and 26 shows (the long-term average of course being 22 as there are 22 players).

And it doesn't surprise me to hear that the previous night had been a very late one... :P

Don't think I'll bring out Box 23 today, but congrats to Lee on winning £4,000, which is a tidy sum.

A difficult game to get anything half decent from...but well done to him for managing it.

A strange game today. Catastrophic start followed by even worse middle part leading to partial recovery in the end. I agree that Noel and the banker probably contributed more to that show than Lee, who seemed to be a bit overawed by the game, shown as he took quite a long time over the last offer.

Not sure what I'd have done at the end there. £4k was indeed a rubbish offer for the board, however the 30% chance of an all-blue finish and an offer of less than £2 would've terrified me. Keeping the £15k with a blue would've resulted in a stick, 2 reds clearly significantly more (£34k banker said).

Given the game Lee had, I can't blame him for dealing, and I may have done the same, however I don't think it was the best strategy to mention his debts, as that would keep the offers low anyway. A more astute player of the game might have bagged an offer twice that he took.
