Ruby seems like a lovely old bird, and has kicked off her show with some interesting tales but without any weeping or anything.

Ruby has box 20 today. Ruby puts her box on the table the wrong way around, but Noel lets her off Ruby has a small wooden box in which she keeps her mum and dad's wedding certificate... Noel asks Ruby about her upbringing, and she tells Noel how her mum lost her hearing when she was 12 after she had her tonsils out, and so Ruby was brought up with a deaf mum...

Ruby tells Noel how she would love to go back and visit Singapore sometime as it has changed so much since she last visited. She also would like to buy a guidedog, and says if she couldn't afford a whole one, she would buy half of one Noel wonders if half a guide dog only gets you half way home
