Noel says a good round will produce a MASSIVE offer...

There's some extra heartbeat music playing...

1 - Hilary - £5,000

Noel says it's perfect

More heartbeat music

17 - Anne - £20,000

Is he going to win the £250k?!?!?!?!?!

More heartbeat music further increases the tension......

22 - John - £250,000

John struggled to get the box open and what a thing he revealed :( SILENCE... falls across the studio!! :(

Banker time with £100 and £1k

Box 22 has just shown why I hate it so much, and also proved why gambling with only one red higher than the last offer is very foolish.

Ah well 1k is not bad for a days work.

Bad luck Mario I was screaming at the tv to leave box 22 :(.

But well done for playing the game with courage and trying to grab the moment and win the giant money!

The other box - box 21 - Tink - £100

Noel says he's lost in admiration for Mario as he showed so much courage, but he says he's more in awe of how Mario took the disappointment, as a lot of people would've buckled. Noel says Mario's family should be proud of him.

Noel sums up the game by saying Mario has the right attitude in life and has charisma - he says it's not the game we wanted and that's so obvious to say - but he's struggling to find some sort of consolation, but the banker was genuinely frightened by Mario...

22 was due the 250k, and 11 continues it's blue run of 15 blues in 17 games.

At least Mario got the £1,000.

Greeny - I thought it was due in 22 too its my lucky box but thats the main reasony why I wanted him to leave it as I felt it was due for the biggie.

What a terrible day today,

I just wished that the £250,000 was there to the end, he didnt deserve £1,000. Really wish he won more!

But still, £1,000 is a good some of money!

He really deserved the £250,000 there... 7 minutes at 3box, I was like "it can't be?"

Anyway, tension box ambience, thats being made right now.

Mario's demeanour was very impressive throughout the game. The way he kept calm and collected especially in the tense latter stages was an object lesson.

The board was looking very strong in the early stages and I had high hopes of a big win. A bit of a wobble in the middle of the game which thankfully Mario rode through and we got to 5 box and a very tempting offer. But a good looking board made a the £250k worth a punt for someone wanting to make the most of his one opportunity to win it.

The final round was agonising as the blue stubbornly refused to be revealed and it was only when the £250k went and left £100 and £1000 that the full implication of the no-deal hit home.

He took the hammer blow with dignity and no histrionics and can take comfort from the fact he tried to make the most of his one big chance and that bravery and courage are things that you can't put a price on anyway.

So near yet so far but he still went away with £1000 more than he came with.

Tom who cares about Israel scoring England do not deserve to qualify they are rubbish and now people are acting like England qualified themselves - sickening. Digital spy forums saying all that lol.

Greeny I love box 22 and his gamble was not foolish the 20K was only 2K less than his offer.

Had that been my game I would have been left with 250K vs 1K and what happened next would depend on the offer lol.

It wasn't foolish. With average luck you'd be left with 1K/5K vs 20K and some sort of get out. 22K was a slighlty mediocre/low offer. That was plain bad luck.

That's one of the most painful 20th boxes ever though.

So let's see, that's £1,000 this time two years ago, £1 this time a year ago, and £1,000 tonight? It's a cursed day to play, we'll probably get another £1 winner this time in 2008!

What a game tonight, it couldn't have been more memorable unless the boxes all started hovering in the air, and Mario had to jump and hit his head on them for the amounts to come out, and then the 1p box having a mushroom flying out to make him Super Mario. Interesting to see that I wasn't the only one to spot the new music remix at round 6, it definitely worked and made it even more terrifying. I seriously wondered whether he'd win the biggie at one point, but, *agh*, that is so painful, just at the last moment it went!

At least we were spared two blue winners in a row, well done Mario on the £1,000, you showed some incredible bravery!

What a tense game that was!

When it got down to 3-box, I really thought he was going to pull it off and get a massive offer, but unfortunately it wasn't to be.

But welldone Mario for having a go at getting the big money, shame it didn't work out for you, but you can still do a bit with £1,000.

Hmm, well we didn't get the big win we needed to boost this week's total payout. The peak was Shaz's £25,000, meaning the total for this week is "just" £53,260... the full league table is in the stats section of the forums as always.

Anyway, an interesting game - Mario certainly had an aura about him, and I thought he was going to win it at one point. When Laura was about to win £250k, we had behind-the-scenes shots, and today we had extra heartbeat music, and I thought we *just might* get another £250k win... but no.

He did have a good chance to deal, and it was good to see Noel remaining relatively neutral at the offers, even suggesting to take JC's advice, who was being cautious for Mario. (Although Noel spouted his usual courage crap at the end  ) Well done to Mario for remaining calm and collected when his game fell apart... that box opening of Tony's was painful... it was one of those moments that is similar to the £250k being revealed in 1p Trevor's game. Enjoy the £1k.[/i]
