The banker tells Noel he thought that £20,000 was Joan's target, and he would prefer to offer £20,000 again, but knows he has to go higher...

Banker offers

£30,000

Noel wonders if the banker has his Joan's target this time... Jon tells Joan that it would be a big gamble now, but would have been different if she had 3 reds remaining... Noel tells her that the £250,000 could be sitting in front of her...

Joan says

DEAL

Noel opens box 14 and reveals 1p :D

Box 18 contains the 50p

Noel looks in the book and reveals that Joan's target was £20,000

Well, that was a very interesting game indeed. Joan was the dark horse of all dark horses!

Personally, I thought that all of the offers in the game were fair so the banker clearly had respect for Joan. I don't think that I'd have dealt at £20,000 and I'd have been really struggling with £30,000 (Which probably means that I'd have dealt) but Joan played it brilliantly. Bluffing the banker into believing that her target was greater than £20,000 was the icing on the cake and the 1p in the box was amazing. Still, Julie's record remains unbroken but both Asim and Joan have come very close to taking it from her.

Well done Joan, a fantastic, lovely player with a game to match. Brilliant!

Well done Joan! Great game, but I'd have won 14p...

Good to see someone risk their target on a relatively good board, it paid off as well.

Good game Joan.

that was a good game :D
I thought she would deal at 20K but I was glad she gave it a crack and dealt at 5 box for 30K. It was a good board with 3/5 power 5s and an all blue round could have taken her to 50K but the board could take a bit of damage.

I probably would have done the same although slightly reluctantly dealt as 30K was a little bit low. 35k would have been a bit better.

Great proveout too :D

Surprise to see the gamble at £20k but the board certainly warranted it with three biggies (two, and I'd be advising Deal).

I'm just about certain I'd have done the same as her. £20k shouldn't have taken me out with three higher than that, but £30k - while feeling perhaps less generous - was the one to take given the 30% chance of a trainwreck. And not only would she have hit that, she'd have ended up with the Sally Kettle finish, but this time it's the Banker who capsized!! Great play.

Also this looks like a season of duplicates box wise. I don't usually follow boxes but this should easily have stood out for even the least observant of you.

Rossano and Alan both had box 16 with £35,000
Debbie and Joan both had box 14 with 1p

I noticed that. Box 14 has been on the table a lot recently!

Incredibly spooky how Asim's game was shown on More4 today, in a few cases that was pretty much the same! Fantastic episode, though, I love big deals followed by total board devastation, and that one was a great example - she even had the 1p in the box! Well done on that £30k, Joan, another player victory!

Well Joan was a dark horse. As soon as she mentioned a target I though 'deal' and even though the board was decent I thought she'd grab the £20k. So when she no-dealt I was pleasantly surprised, and more so in retrospect after she revealed it was her target.

The £30k offer was different and would take some resisting for all but the most resolute gambler. I didn't really begrudge her her deal as at least she showed some bravery in turning down the £20k (which most folk would have grasped) and had a go.

The proveout was fortuitous and the 1p in her box iced the cake.

A nice lady and a nice outcome.

Well done Joan - very impressive Banker beating! At last it seems the curse of the 1p box has been lifted, it used to be that most of the people who brought it to the table ended up in the 1p club but a few people have sold it for good sums of money recently!

What a great game! I thought Joan would take the £20k, but it was certainly worth carrying on with three big numbers still on the board.

The perfect proveout as well - a real Banker beating!

Definitely game of season 3, that one! That had all the elements of perfect gameplay - a brave decision to turn down the target albeit one that had every chance of a decent get-out if she had a bad round, temprerd with sense at the stage where there was a 30% chance of an all-blue showdown! I love it after deals for a life-enhanching sum, the player wouldn't even had a chance of a get-out at 2 box, like in Asim's game, and would have lost the LOT!

I think box 14 must be rivalling 3 and 6 for having 1p at the table!

Yer I enjoyed todays show too and im so pleased she No dealed 20K and it worked out well for her.

I think I woulda gone on at 30k myself but that doesnt mean id win 14p remember someone else is not nessecerily gonna pick the same boxes as she did.

Correct me if im wrong but hasn't the 1p come to the table more than any other amount?
