Recap of tonight's show!

Contestant: Pyong Kong!

His parents came into the USA from Korea with only $750, and he likes karaoke and clogging too.

Chosen case: 8

Round 1: 6 Cases to open

16: $300,000
12: $0.01 :D Glad to see that go this early
18: $200
6: $75,000
21: $1 :D Two lowest are gone!
1: $50

Pyong calls the banker beautiful!

Banker's offer: $36,000!

NO DEAL!

Round 2: 5 Cases to open

14: $500
20: $25,000
3: $5
23: $400,000
13: $100,000

Pyong then calls the banker a 'sweetie'! Howie tells Pyong the banker is making an offer of money, not an offer of a date!

Banker's offer: $47,000

Pyong accidentally knocks his case over, but fortunately it didn't open, then a break is called. After the break, he brings out his karaoke singing talents here.

NO DEAL!

Round 3: 4 Cases to open

5: $1,000,000  Well, no Million Dollar winner here tonight
25: $50,000
7: $25 :D Sara produces yet another low value case
15: $5,000

Despite the loss of the Million, the offer still went up!

Banker's offer: $52,000!

NO DEAL!

Round 4: 3 Cases to open

9: $10 Pyong's wife called for $10 and Patricia does indeed show the $10!
26: $1,000
17: $300

The Banker now wants to make Pyong sing a karaoke to the background music of BINGO! The lyrics apparently, rather unsurprisingly, mock Pyong.

He then calls back with an offer...

Banker's offer: $84,000!

NO DEAL!

Round 5: 2 Cases to open

2: $200,000
4: $100 :D Lindsay S. produces yet another low value in her case

The Final 6 Cases

- $75
- $400
- $750
- $10,000
- $500,000
- $750,000

Banker's offer: $115,000!

NO DEAL!

Round 6: 1 Case to open

22: $400

Banker's offer: $173,000!

NO DEAL!

Round 7: 1 Case to open

11: $10,000

Banker's offer: $291,000!

NO DEAL!

Round 8: 1 Case to open

24: $500,000  Safety net goes!

The board at this point is nothing but 75s! $75, $750 and $750,000 are the last three. And remember that Pyong's parents came to the USA from Korea with $750...

That loss of the safety net gives the banker the perfect time to drop the offer.

Banker's offer: $211,000!

Pyong now decides to DEAL!

Round 9: 1 Case to open

19: $750,000! :D Pyong just got out in time!

The Final 2 Cases would have been...

- $75
- $750

Howie now opens his case #8, and the case is now revealed to contain...

8: $750!

The amount which Pyong's parents came to the USA with! Anya is apparently in shock over this twist of fate, and Howie shows the case to Pyong's parents in the audience.

To prove it, Anya opens up her case to reveal...

10: $75

Game Summary:

Peak offer: $291,000
Case value: $750
Prize won: $211,000
Result: Technical Player Win (73-27)

And this ends the recap!

INCREDIBLE episode! We were long overdue for a really tense dramatic show and this one did not disappoint!

Pyong was a great contestant and the story of his family was really touching, a great story of one family living The American Dream!

Oh, I wrote down those insulting lyrics The Banker make Pyong sing! Here they are...

I am a loser and a geek
And Pyong is my name-oh!
P-Y-O-N-G
P-Y-O-N-G
P-Y-O-N-G
I am a dorky lame-oh!

This was followed by text telling Pyong to "Now clog like a fool"! :-D :-D :-D

Oh, it was brilliant! I like it when The Banker is really nasty!

Congrats on his huge win! Only appropriate he had $750 in his case! My dad knew it would that amount in his case throughout the whole show!

I agree that was a good episode, although I was disappointed in the spoiler being false. I still enjoyed it. It also sounds like I missed a good one on Sunday (Didn't know it was on), based on the recap in it.

It's interesting when they no-deal the seventh offer in a two-high, two-low Final Four, they always hit a high number next and have a low one in thier case (but usually deal the eighth offer, at least), but when they deal the fourth offer on a two-case board, they usually hit a low one next and have a high one in their case. Perhaps that's why we've only had seven OPWs so far this season.

Also, is it just me, or does seemingly most of the big wins come from eighth offer deals? I know that hardly any of the big wins on US DOND come from contestants playing to the end. Most of the biggest wins seem to come from seventh offer deals and eighth offer deals.

Although the OPW was missed by ND'ing the seventh offer (Has anyone scored an OPW by dealing with still two or more case amounts higher than the offer?), it was still a very impressive TPW at $211K with the last high amount going next and only $750 in the case. And, a very interesting Final Three board.

One big disappointment: The family said to come in with $750, and the Final Three was $75, $750, and $750K. Yet, the banker makes a vanilla eighth offer of $211,000. He should have offered $210,750! The banker could claim "I could give you 750!" if he did that! :) I mean, they did gimmicks on a lot of previous banker offers before, I expected this banker offer to at least end in 750! And, of course, a deal at $210,750 would sound so much funnier than a deal for $211,000 anyway, but especially here! $211,000 isn't even a multiple of 750 while $210,750 is. There's no reason why late-game offers on non-trainwreck games always have to be multiples of 1,000.

It also would've been nice had the $75K still been on the board, and the $500K went in the seventh round. That would've been neat: a $75, $750, $75K and $750K Final Four. I wonder what the banker would've offered there? (Probably less than $211K, but who knows?) Had the $75K made it to the end and the $500K going on the fourth pick in the first round, it'd probably be a lower win and earlier deal on a less safe board.

I personally like deals like this because they involve multiple arguable either way Big Money decisions and a sensible Deal for a life-changing sum in the end. :D ;)

Not sure why you need to write an essay on that, though. :ponder: :P
