Hi, folks. I have an update about a Deal USA contestant for you.

On June 12, realtor Tonika “Toni” Miller from Studio City, California appeared as a contestant on the show. She went on to win $400,000 and a new minivan in amazing fashion. What happened to her afterwards was far less than amazing, though.

According to the Palo Alto Daily Post, Miller and an accomplice are both suspects in a scam where they offered a 66-year-old woman a fraudulent reverse mortgage. Both were later arrested and Miller is currently in prison awaiting $300,000 bail. She and her accomplice, Justin Hall, a small-time Hollywood actor, are slated to appear in court on November 22.

The craziest thing about this is that despite the fact that she knew the police were after her, Miller appeared on the show anyway. Of her decision to do so, District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said, “She knew the cops were looking for her. It’s kind of ballsy to hop on a game show.”

Toni Miller won big on Deal USA, but her subsequent involvement in a scam led to arrest and court appearances.
