Welcome to the recap of tonight’s second episode. Our contestant for this game is Ally Teixiera, an entrepreneur from southern California. She also has an MBA and wants to win enough money to open a brick-and-mortar shop for her dairy-free ice cream brand.

Ally picks case 3 because of her mom’s attachment to that number. Her first six selections come from the lucky numbers printed on a message she got from a fortune cookie. Let’s see how this pans out.

Round 1
[5] - $25,000
[11] - $400
[22] - $100,000
[24] - $400,000
[25] - $300,000
[8] - $5

It didn’t pan out well at all. The Banker responds accordingly with a low opening offer of only

BANKER'S OFFER

$9,000

Ally says she needs about $400,000 to open her ice cream shop. Nine grand won’t get her there, so she says NO DEAL.

Before the round begins, Howie samples some of Ally’s dairy-free ice cream. He really enjoys it.

Round 2
[14] - $25
[19] - $1,000
[6] - $50,000
[10] - $200
[18] - $.01

Before revealing the second offer, Howie mentions that a sample of Ally’s ice cream was sent up to the Banker’s office. The Banker says she’s sending it down for further analysis, after which the flushing of a toilet is heard. I guess she doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth.

The second offer is

BANKER'S OFFER

$47,000

We then meet Ally’s supporters, which include her husband Jacob, her friend and her business partner. After discussing the offer with her supporters, Ally says NO DEAL, and we take our first break.

Ally’s ice cream dream continues with four more cases.

Round 3
[26] - $50
[21] - $500
[13] - $1,000,000 - Pop goes the millski, unfortunately.
[1] - $1

The next offer comes after the break.

We’re back, and it’s Banker time again. Despite the loss of the million, the offer increased slightly.

BANKER'S OFFER

$55,000

Ally says NO DEAL.

Round 4

Before the round begins, Ally asks if she can bring out her good luck charm - her Italian greyhound, Bellini. She is brought out by one of the models. The game then resumes.

[2] - $300
[15] - $750,000 - Well, this game has certainly taken a turn.
[17] - $100

One Power 7 amount knocked out, two left on the board. Howie reminds Ally of the counter offer before the Banker phones in her next offer, which will be revealed after the break.

Welcome back. Before the break, Howie received the Banker’s later offer. The loss of the $750,000 in the previous round leads to a decreased offer of

BANKER'S OFFER

$30,000

Ally has two cases to open if she declines this offer. She says that there are three values higher than that offer still in play, which influences her decision to say NO DEAL.

Round 5
[12] - $75
[20] - $10,000

The board at this point:
$10
$750

$5,000
$75,000
$200,000
$500,000

And the offer is...

BANKER'S OFFER

$71,000

Some people would consider taking that offer, but will Ally? We’ll find out after the break.

Welcome back. Before the break, the Banker tabled an offer of $71,000 to our contestant. An on-screen graphic states that the current offer represents a 136 per cent increase over the previous one. Ally’s supporters think she should go for it, and after weighing the options, she says NO DEAL.

Round 6
Ally picks case 23, held by Anne Julia. She has a feeling there’s $10 inside. Much to everyone’s delight and surprise, Ally is exactly right!

[23] - $10

The Banker phones and delivers her latest offer. “Six figures,” says Howie. Sure enough, it is.

BANKER'S OFFER

$108,000

“But that’s not all,” Howie says. Ben Van Leeuwen, founder and CEO of Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream appears from the audience to offer Ally mentorship to jump start her ice cream business. That is valued at $15,000, making the total value of the offer

BANKER'S OFFER

$123,000

Howie asks the home audience what they would do in Ally’s situation before throwing to the final break.

We’re back for the exciting conclusion to this game. Before the break, Ally was offered $108,000 in cash and a $15,000 mentorship package for a total value of $123,000. After much consideration, Ally decides to say DEAL.

But was it a great deal? There’s only one way to find out.

Proveout
Round 7

[7] - $500,000

BANKER'S OFFER
WOULD'VE BEEN

$70,000

Round 8
[16] - $200,000

“That was perfect timing,” says Howie. It truly was. Howie then opens case 3 to reveal $5,000. Case 4 held $75,000 while case 9 held $750.

I scream, you scream, and we all scream for Ally Teixiera, who is one step closer to realizing her dream of opening her dairy-free ice cream shop with a total of $123,000 in cash and stuff.

Next time, a poker player takes on the Banker. Will she play with her cards close to her vest, or will she go bust faster than Luis Greed? Find out next week. Until then, good night and good deals.

I wonder if the player would be allowed to turn down a "special" offer and then counter a later offer with the "special" part of the offer? :ponder:

For instance, I'd possibly turn down the $108,000 and then after the next offer is revealed I'd counter with an offer of $55,000 + the mentorship package.
