Welcome once again to another recap of The Julie Snyder Wish Fulfillment Program, better known as Le Banquier. Tonight's contestant is out to prove that bow ties are cool, especially if they're made out of wood.

The bow tie-wearer in question is 27-year-old Marc-Antoine Montpetit of Saint-Etienne-de-Beauharnois. He is an aspiring comedian who hosts a web series called Pas D'Temps À Perdre, a talk show where he interviews celebrities. The series is known for its off-the-wall humour, which gets a rise out of the guests. When not hosting his show, Marc-Antoine works as a hotel concierge, and wants to win enough money to finally move out of his parents' house.

For tonight's game, the models are a combination of celebrities Marc-Antoine has interviewed on Pas D'Temps À Perdre, along with some of the regular models. Le Banquier's Facebook page indicates that this is the penultimate episode of the series, so this is the last time those models will ever grace our screens.

Marc-Antoine feels an emotional connection to case 22, held by former Montreal Canadiens player Steve Bégin, so he decides to select it as his own case. After he delivers the case to the Dollar Desk, Steve removes the Canadiens jersey he's wearing, and autographs it for Marc-Antoine.

We've got a case, and now we've got a game. It's juice and jam time.

Round 1
[1] - $100,000
[6] - $50
[10] - $10 - Held by a model named Tyo. I'm only mentioning that because I've never heard that name before.
[17] - $25,000
[25] - $200 - Held by former Montreal Canadiens player Georges Laraque.
[23] - $5,000

BANKER'S OFFER

$48,000

Marc-Antoine says REFUSÉE.

Round 2
[2] - $5
[5] - $20
[9] - $125,000
[24] - $112,000
[3] - Surprise | $0.01 - The Surprise is assistance from the Goji creative collective to help grow Marc-Antoine's YouTube audience, and a trip to Anaheim, California to attend VidCon 2017 ($8,000).

BANKER'S OFFER

$69,000

Marc-Antoine's father Martin thinks he should take the offer, but Marc-Antoine has other ideas. He says REFUSÉE.

Round 3
[13] - Sunwing | $400 - Marc-Antoine wins a trip for four to Punta Cana in the Dominican Replublic ($8,000).
[15] - $400,000
[20] - $100
[21] - $500

BANKER'S OFFER

$82,000

Marc-Antoine says REFUSÉE.

Round 4
[8] - $300,000
[16] - $1,000
[18] - $1

BANKER'S OFFER

$99,000

Marc-Antoine agonizes over whether or not he should accept the offer. Julie reminds him that he has a terrific board, and that the half million and the Vidéotron Mobile bonus remain in play. The audience seems to want him to play on as well, but Marc-Antoine believes it's time to fold. He says ACCEPTÉE.

And now, let's find out if that was the right call.

Proveout
Round 5

[4] - $150,000
[12] - Vidéotron Mobile

BANKER'S OFFER
WOULD'VE BEEN

$126,000

Round 6
[11] - $175,000

BANKER'S OFFER
WOULD'VE BEEN

$132,000

Round 7
[7] - $200,000

BANKER'S OFFER
WOULD'VE BEEN

$138,000

Round 8
[14] - $500,000

So it seems that our celebrity interviewer did make the right decision in the end, albeit a few rounds too early. Fortunately, Julie shows us that the deal was a good one, as there was only $300 in case 22.

With a total of $115,000 in cash and stuff secured, Marc-Antoine now has enough money to finally move out of his parents' house.

Next time, we travel back to the 80s to close the book on 10 years of Le Banquier. Until then, good night, and good deals.

The generosity of late offers here makes me play on for sure, but it's not like 99k was stingy itself.
