Hello, and welcome to another Le Banquier recap. Last week, I teased that it would be raining men on the set. Well, it is... kind of. Twenty-one of the 26 regular case models - the women - are back behind the cases tonight, but the six cases on the top row, which are usually guarded by six male models, are being held by the six stars of a play called Ladies' Night. Our hostess Julie says that later on in the show, they'll get naked. Oh boy...

This doesn't seem to bother our contestant, 22-year-old Sheila Girard of Jonquière, Quebec. She's studying to be a teacher, and loves singing karaoke in her spare time. This show really seems to enjoy having attractive young women who are 25 years old or younger as contestants. That gets no complaints from me.

Sheila says that the number 7 follows her around a lot in her life, so that's the case she chooses. And away we go on another case-opening adventure.

Round 1
[9] - $400,000
[5] - $175,000
[17] - $100,000
[2] - $200
[19] - $400
[16] - $10

That was a rough opening round. Here's the offer.

BANKER'S OFFER

$40,000

Sheila says REFUSÉE.

Round 2
Julie gives our contestant a pedicure while she selects the cases in this round. Hey, the theme of the episode is Ladies' Night, after all.
[11] - $200,000
[3] - $0.01
[6] - $5
[14] - $75
[12] - $50,000

BANKER'S OFFER

$51,000

Sheila says REFUSÉE.

Round 3
[20] - $1
[21] - $100
At this point, Julie throws to a commercial, and when the show returns, the Ladies' Night actors perform a striptease, much to the delight of the mostly female audience. After a second commercial break, the case opening resumes, with the actors all dressed in red bathrobes.
[15] - $500
[26] - $125,000

The Banker, amused by the striptease, tables the following offer, which elicits laughter from pretty much everyone.

BANKER'S OFFER

$69,000

Despite the obvious innuendo there, Sheila says REFUSÉE.

Round 4
[18] - $300
After being served cocktails earlier in the show, Julie looks right into the camera and says, "I'm hosting while drunk." Okay, then.
[4] - $50
[1] - Sunwing / $5,000 - Sheila wins a trip to Punta Cana ($8,000).

BANKER'S OFFER

$89,000

Sheila says REFUSÉE.

Round 5
[24] - Surprise / $20 - The Surprise is a trip to New York City, complete with a chauffeur.
[23] - $150,000

BANKER'S OFFER

$103,000

Sheila says REFUSÉE.

Round 6
[10] - $500,000 - D'oh!

I think Sheila may have pushed her luck too far. The offer takes a huge hit, as expected.

BANKER'S OFFER

$71,000

Sheila, accompanied by her supporters, decides to push the flashing button and cut her losses. She says ACCEPTÉE, leaving the Vidéotron Mobile bonus unclaimed.

Did our contestant stop at just the right time? There's only one way to find out.

Proveout
Round 7

[22] - $1,000

BANKER'S OFFER
WOULD'VE BEEN

$90,000

Round 8
[13] - $25,000

BANKER'S OFFER
WOULD'VE BEEN

$115,000

I hear you, dear reader. Those offers seem over-inflated. But the truth is that if Sheila were still in live play, that really would have been the offer. Don't believe me? Check out the deal accepted by last week's contestant.

Round 9
[25] - $300,000

This sets the stage a very interesting final two, Vidéotron Mobile vs. $750. No has ever had the cash bonus in their case since it was introduced in 2012. The final two cases are then opened simultaneously, and we see this:

[7] - Vidéotron Mobile
[8] - $750

History has been made. For the very first time, a contestant was holding the cash bonus in their case. Had Sheila gone the distance and opened her case, she would have invoked a little-known rule – the $10,000 bonus would have been doubled to $20,000.

Before the show ends, Julie delivers a $4,500 spa trip and $5,000 worth of concert tickets to Sheila, because apparently the show was in a handout deficit again. Combined with everything else she won, Sheila takes home $96,500 in cash and stuff.

Join me next week for more monetary mayhem on Le Banquier. Until then, good night, and good deals.
